104th Build Groundbreaking Ceremony
Thank you to all who attended our 104th Build Groundbreaking Ceremony on Saturday, March 6 to celebrate and bless the Puga Sosa Family and their future home! A huge thank you to all our volunteers, sponsors, and community partners for making this all possible, and a special thanks to Wells Fargo for sponsoring this build.

Calling all volunteers! Sign up now to volunteer for our 104th Build on Hickory Street in Denton! "Walls Up" for this home is on Saturday, March 27 - please sign up for this date if you are ready to build, carry, and lift heavy walls.
Volunteer Food Coordinator Needed
Providing lunches for our volunteers is one of our favorite ways to thank them for all their generous hard work. We are in need of a volunteer to help coordinate these meals on Saturday build days. This person would need to be available on Saturdays to pick up the food, bring it to the build site, and set up and tear down. With the pandemic, this will be done in a safe manner, including individually wrapped meals and social distancing. Ideally, this volunteer would receive food donations as much as possible from restaurants and grocery stores.

Meet our 105th Partner Family!
Meet our 105th Partner Family: Dina Sosa and her two daughters, Gabriella and Cecilia! We had a small, joy-filled and tear-filled celebration on March 4 at the ReStore when we surprised them with the news that they had been chosen for our Homeownership program. We are so blessed to be able to welcome them into the Habitat family and work alongside them to build a home they deserve.

Dina Sosa lost her partner in June 2020 and works full-time at Calhoun Middle School in Denton to support her two daughters, now as a single mother. While Dina has worked so hard to provide for her family, it has been difficult for her to sustain the household with only one income, and the quality of the home is in bad shape, especially now after last month's winter storm.

Construction on their Habitat home will begin soon. Please check our website often for updates and to volunteer or donate.

Our Homeownership Services Committee and Board of Directors selected this family through an anonymous process based on choosing the family that is the most in need of a home. Learn more about the Homeowner selection process.
Service Spotlight: Force Home Services
This month, Force Home Services donated an air conditioning unit to Habitat for Humanity of Denton County to be used for our 104th home! Ron Strelke, President of Force Home Services, is a Habitat Board Member and we are grateful for his service. This generous in-kind donation will help the Puga Sosa Family build strength and independence in their own home. Thank you, Force Home Services!

"Party with a Purpose" hosted by Greater Denton/Wise County Association of Realtors is next month on April 17! Have you bought your tickets yet?

All proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity of Denton County to help build one of the first homes for a deserving family in the new Habitat Village.

Masks and social distancing will be required at this event. Not comfortable attending in person but still want to contribute? You can make a donation online.
