Reminder: Honors Assembly Attendance
Dear Xavier Parents of Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors,

This note comes to ask for your support. This week marks the beginning of activities and recognition for our seniors. The Class of 2022 has been an outstanding one. They have grown in their faith and have served our school, our community and our world. They have been mentors, tutors and leaders for our underclassmen.

Wednesday we will honor our seniors at our annual Honors Assembly. It is the last time our entire school, including the Class of 2022 will be together. It is our chance to say “Thank you” and “Congrats on a job well done!” to our seniors.

Unfortunately, some of our underclassmen seem to think this Assembly is not something they should have to attend. So they ask you, their parents, to call in for them to release them just prior to the start of the assembly. In my address to our students, I ask them to rise above a “me” approach and be respectful enough of our seniors to attend and show support for what the Class of 2022 has meant to Xavier High School.

I am asking you to support us in this message to our underclassmen that as a community we should all take part in recognizing and congratulating those who have accomplished so much and represented us so well during their time at Xavier. Please share with your student that you expect that they will take part in this special tradition.

Thank you for supporting our efforts to build a sense of community among our “Saints!”

Sincerely,

Angela Olson, Principal

Reminder: Attendance as the Year Winds Down
As we get close to the end of the year, and particularly as we get close to finals for seniors, we ask for your help in doing all that you can to ensure that your students make every effort to attend classes throughout the remainder of the semester. While it may be difficult to decline a request from your student, particularly a senior student, to "call in" for them, we ask that you help us maintain a sense of academic purpose.

Despite what your student may tell you, there is no school approved "skip day" at any time during the year. We count on your partnership with us and on your integrity when faced with those requests from your students.

Thanks for all you do to help us ensure that your students stay focused on their studies!

Reminder: Concession Help Needed - Please Consider Signing Up
The craziness of spring activities is upon us. In the next 6 weeks, Xavier hosts 19 home games/meets that need volunteers to help staff the concession stand.

Grab your bestie, spouse or even your high school son or daughter and spend a few hours supporting Xavier High School. Various activities are assigned to work certain events but all volunteers can sign up to work regardless if their son/daughter is a part of that activity.

Many hands make light work.
