Merry Christmas everyone! I hope this email finds you getting ready for Santa and wrapping your gifts to put under the tree.

If you didn't know I had my left knee replaced on November 30th. After my November newsletter, I received over 40 quilts that I completed in just 3 weeks for everyone. I pray that you have finished all you binding projects. It kept be busy so I didn't think about my surgery. This was my first BIG surgery I have every had. Everyone was very helpful with advice and what to do. BUT I don't think anyone told me the pain that I would endure. After my late start on my surgery, and then getting out of surgery about 2pm, which the Dr. told my husband he didn't know how I was walking my knee was so bad, I finally got to my room about 7. The next few days were just a blurr... When my therapist arrived at my house, it was one if my customers whom I had made several t-shirt quilts for. Such a wonderful site. And I had to explain to her how much I hated pain. So please bear with me me. Ashley has been wonderful. I see karma all around this situation. Mom has been taken care of by Heather, also one of my customers, and Trixie has been by my side since I came home. She is very good nurse also.

I have been able to work on a few of my applique blocks that I need to complete a class I taught about 2 years ago and I'm hoping that next week my new 301 I just got will help me finish putting together my applique project and my Schoolgirl sampler.

My house is decorated for Christmas and I'm enjoying listening to my music while I recover. Life is a little slower for me with a few more naps and I have a hard time sleeping though the night, but the best news is that I can travel upstairs now and I will sleep in my own bed for a good nights sleep. It is the small things that make me happy right now.

So what do we have to look forward to? I do have in January the paper piecing class that I have 3 people signed up for. If you want to take this class, please read the details below. All supplies come in the kit. It will be fun and a great way to learn something new if you want to. February will take us to the Quilt show in Hampton and in March I have my Retreat in Nags Heads. I also have a road trip back to West Virginia in June 14-18th. We are going to the quilt show and The Quilt Shoppe in Summersville.

I am planning a few new things for the Spring of 2022 and as soon as I can get back to my studio, you will hear more about them. I was too busy before my surgery to start anything new. But if you know me, my brain is always working on new projects.

So until you see me in person, Keep on sewing and I will see you soon.

Lisa

How Loyal are our fur babies?
This little sweet girl has been by my side since I came home. Not sure why she can't get in my lap just yet but always close. Just imagine what the first day back to Daycare will be like. Very noisy I'm sure. Trixie misses everyone and sends you a kiss and a lick on the cheek.

Sue Cuzzocreo does a great job on cleaning the older model machines that have metal gears and parts. Several of our ladies have had their machines serviced and love that Sue takes pride in her work. So if your baby needs a little TLC, give Sue a call so you are ready for the new year. Cost is $60 plus any parts you might need. Her cell is 907-232-8312
Memory Quilts
One of my last big projects before my surgery was for a long time friend who lost her mother this year. I have known her family for over 40 years. When she came to pick up her quilt, that she is giving her dad for Christmas, the tears just started flowing down her face. She was so excited to see the memories made into something that she hopes her father will cherish for many years. That is why I love what I do. To keep memories alive for years and years to come. Thanks Penny and I hope that your dad LOVES his quilt!
Thank You!
I now offer payment through Zelle (which is from your bank to mine) or VENMO. If you use one of these payments types, you can now pay me directly. Just inquire and I can give you my account info.
