Dear Prince Families:

We are excited to welcome our students back this Tuesday! Tomorrow, our faculty will spend the day on campus making final preparations to ensure an efficient and productive start to the second half of the school year. We are closely monitoring the infection rate of the Omicron variant within our area, and we want to emphasize the importance of keeping any student who feels sick at home to protect the health of their classmates. The most common symptoms of the Omicron variant are cough, congestion, runny nose, and fatigue, but unlike the Delta variant, many people do not lose their taste or smell. Thousands of students in five of Atlanta’s large public-school systems are returning to virtual instruction this week, and other schools in our service area are masking. Let’s continue to work together to remain in the least restrictive environment possible with all the benefits of in-person instruction by keeping the school clean (including daily bioesque disinfectant spraying) and keeping sick students at home until they are well.

If your student has contracted COVID-19, please remember to report it here on our website to set our processes in motion (quarantine calculation, contact tracing notifications, virtual instruction, etcetera). This Tuesday, you will receive a more detailed letter from School Nurse Tabitha Hawk to refresh you on our COVID-19 protocols as we prepare to meet the familiar spike in cases that comes following a long break.

Reenrollment begins January 12, and our forecast projects more students (returning and new) than we can accommodate, so I encourage you to reenroll early to reserve your child’s seat for SY 2022-2023. Full steam ahead!
