The 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Family Table Question:

What emotions do you think Jesus felt while he was in the desert?
What do you think he thought or prayed about when he was there? Today’s Gospel says that angels ministered to Jesus.
Have you ever felt the presence of angels in your life? Jesus said, “This is the time of fulfillment.”
What does he mean by this?
No K-6 Pre-Recorded Lessons this week due to VIRTUS Lesson. See Below.
PRINCIPLE
PRINCIPLE:
Children must learn tools to protect themselves from people who may harm them through physical touch (sexual or otherwise) to prevent / reduce the risk of sexual abuse and boundary violations.
the
This past week we had our annual VIRTUS-Empowering God's Children Lesson, as mandated by our archdiocese.

The video linked here is the one your children saw. Afterwards, SMA Trained and Certified Catechists led an activity and discussion. Thank you to parents, volunteers, and staff who made this lesson go so smoothly. Most of all, thanks to our wonderful students who took this lesson seriously, and participated with a great attitude and respect!

OBJECTIVES:
Through this lesson the adult lesson leader reinforces the parent’s message about touching safety and protecting private body parts. After Lesson 1, children should be better able to: Identify safe and unsafe touches, repeat and understand the physical boundary touching rules. Say “No!” when someone tries to touch them in an unsafe or uncomfortable way, Try to get away from the situation. Tell an adult as soon as possible.Technology Component: understand similar boundary rules apply for online activities, too. Say “No!” if someone shares unsafe or inappropriate material / images. Leave the situation. Tell an adult as soon as possible. Begin to understand that if anybody does give them an unsafe touch or shows them inappropriate material, it isn’t the child’s fault!

1st-6th Grade Check In-
Parents, please park and walk children into the church narthex for check in.
Please have masks on prior to entering the church. We will have extra if needed.
As we did last year, tables will be set up for each class to check in and to meet your child's catechist. Children will then enter the church and find their assigned seat with their grade-level class. Masks must be worn, and children will be socially distanced in the pews.
A Parent Seating Section will be marked off for those who are able to stay and listen to God with us!

1st-6th Grade Dismissal-
Parents, please park and walk into the narthex for pick-up.
Children will line up by class inside the church at one of the interior doors and will be released to parents waiting in the church narthex. Each door will be clearly marked with a particular grade for easy pick-up. Children will not be released from the church until a parent or designated caregiver checks the child out from the class catechist.
If someone other than a parent is picking up a child, WE MUST HAVE PARENT PERMISSION in an email to jane.gregory@stmichaelcp.org
