The 12th annual Klondike Derby is coming up at Latimer Reservation. We are so excited to share this adventure with YOU! The 2022 theme is… Jurassic Klondike. Now go out there and get your crews/ships/troops signed up for Jurassic Klondike 2022.

Latimer Reservation is proud to offer Scouts (age 14+ ) and adults the opportunity to complete the Wilderness First Aid Training. This training is required of each unit participating in any of the national high adventure programs of the BSA.

The Middle Tennessee Council wants to ensure that you have the training that you need to be successful as a Scout leader. NEW - Latimer High Adventure! April 8-10, 2022, is the opportunity to take your Scouting experiences to the next level. You sign up like you do for Merit Badges Dayz, but the program is different from a traditional Scout Merit Badges Dayz. These adventure treks are a two-day theme focused adventures at Latimer Reservation but are not designed to earn a merit badge. Instead, these treks are all about having fun, making memories, and getting to experience the great outdoors with other Scouts.

We have treks for biking, conservation, climbing, hiking, and shooting. You will spend the weekend on the plateau and experience all that Tennessee has to offer. The treks are limited, so sign up early. To participate in these treks, A youth must be 14 years of age OR 13 years of age and completed the 8th grade by the date of participation.

We are truly excited to offer another Merit Badge Days in the Spring at Boxwell Reservation. April 9 and 10^th we will be offering this exciting event with 15 different merit badges three of them are Eagle Required and our ATV program. This family camping weekend will include shooting ranges, crafts, games, and special projects. Bring your fishing pole and fish the 21-acre lake.

Mark your calendar! The Middle Tennessee Council is proud to recognize our 2019, 2020 and 2021 Class of Eagle Scouts at our annual Eagle Scout and Volunteer Recognition Celebration. On April 24, 2022 at Allen Arena of Lipscomb University, we will honor those Scouts that earned the rank of Eagle Scout over the last three years. Scouts should wear their field uniform (also known as a Class A uniform). For all others, business casual is appropriate attire.

Here is your opportunity to be a MENTOR and CONGRATULATE our Eagle Scouts from 2019, 2020, and 2021 on their attainment of Scouting’s highest rank.

Collectively all EAGLE SCOUT MENTORS underwrite the cost for the Eagle Scout and Volunteer Leadership Reception so everyone can come and enjoy the Reception at no cost to Eagle Scouts or their families.

We are gearing up for the outdoors this summer with exciting Adventure Camps! Rocketing into base camps throughout the council, our Space Odyssey themed Adventure Camps will provide tons of fun-filled memories. Scouts who will be entering first through fifth grades will have the opportunity to participate in numerous FUN activities at Adventure Camp which may include shooting bb’s, sling shots and archery equipment, playing games, field sports, participating in arts and crafts, nature and other activities unique to Cub Scouting!

The early bird cost is $90 per child through April 29, 2022. If your child is new to Scouting there will be additional fees to register them into the Scouting program. There is no cost to register as an adult volunteer.

We look forward to seeing our Scouts and parents at Adventure Camp this summer and having a Space Odyssey blast!

Camp is just around the corner and we want to make sure your troop has an awesome summertime program for youth in Scouting. If your troop hasn’t made their commitment to coming to camp this year please let us know. We currently have over 140 troops and 880 Scouts signed up to go to Boxwell Reservation.

This year at camp we are excited to open the Roy Grindstaff Skilled Trades Center, continue our ATV program with a new set of bikes and offer better quality programs at camp.
