Dear Kehillah,

February is Black History Month, Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance, & Inclusion Month; our community is looking at all of these meaningful topics with open hearts and minds to hold space for all that these observances represent.
In honor of Black History Month, today's Kab Shab featured a "Name That Tune" game played by Advisory groups, using a playlist of songs by iconic Black artists of the last century, curated by our very own Tom Romero.
Kehillah's Dr. Krug, Director of Jewish Life & Learning, offered his personal reflections on Black History Month and its meaning.

Athletics Update:
Busy BBall Season Continues
By: Coach Greenfield

The basketball teams were busy again this week. Both varsity teams played at Summit Shasta on Tuesday in what turned out to be lopsided defeats. The teams battled, but ultimately fell to the team at the top of the standings.

On Wednesday the boys JV team played against Pinewood and kept the game interesting for the first half, but ultimately could not overcome the deeper Pinewood squad. The boys JV lost 51-24 and were led by Beckett G. (8 points) and a buzzer beater that led to a raucous celebration!

The varsity teams finished up the week on Thursday against Pacific Bay Christian. The varsity girls started the evening with a tough game against one of the top teams in the league. They lost the game 57-17. The varsity boys followed with a close game that could have gone either way. The team was led by Josh L. (20 points), but lost 64-56.

Kehillah is nearing the end of the basketball season and potentially playoffs.

Please be on the lookout for a message regarding the upcoming Spring sports: Tennis, Track, and Boys Volleyball. There should be a message out to the community early next week. Remember that any student-athletes that are interested in playing sports need to fill out a health physical once per year. If they have filled one out for a previous sport this school year they are likely eligible for the Spring.

Go Rams!

Upcoming Performance:
BFF: March 2, 3, and 6, 2022

The Salon's next production -- BFF, by Anna Ziegler -- Ziegler's insightful drama explores the complex relationship between two best friends.

In BFF, the playwright suggests that a frequent ingredient in the complex relationship between girls is guilt. It's a valuable insight -- and one that Ziegler probes keenly in her fine 90-minute play.
