Dear friends and supporters,

The Center for Irish Music kicked off our holiday performance season with an impressive concert by the advanced youth ensembles last Saturday, pictured above. I'd like to send a hearty thanks to our youth ensemble directors and individual instructors for sharing their music with these talented musicians, and to the parents for their dedication and support. Thanks, also to Mary Vanorny, our ensemble coordinator, for helping to organize the concert & volunteers.

YOU are welcome to join us for our adult open mics and recitals coming up over the next two weekends. All of the performances will be broadcast virtually, so you can put our students on in the background, or stream us on your 70 inch flat screen! See details and register here.

Give to the Max Day was a great success for CIM! Thanks to every individual, family and small business who pulled together to raise over $20,000 for the Center for Irish Music's mission. Your support helps us to hand down the tradition to the next generation of musicians in our community through culturally unique music education and events, an affordable instrument rental program, and a financial aid program. If you couldn't join us on November 18th, you can still help us to reach our year-end goal of $35,000.

I have just received confirmation that our good friend Máirtín de Cógáin will be joining us for Éigse CIM, A Gaela Event on Saturday, February 26th! So, put that event on your calendar. Tickets and table sponsorships will be on sale soon.

While you're at it, mark your calendars for the 14th Annual Minnesota Irish Music Weekend on the weekend of June 9-12th, 2022.

Take care, and I hope to run into you soon!

FIDDLE TUNE-UP DAY WITH MARY VANORNY
Calling all CIM fiddle students! Bring your fiddle in for a tune-up and polish it up for the recital season.

Mary will have her tool kit to help straighten bridges, tighten up your chin rest, fix sticky pegs, rosin up your bow (or determine if it's time to rehair). If you have new strings purchased, Mary can change them for you. We'll get you sounding your very best.

Stop by any time, but come early. First come, first served, and drop-ins are encouraged.
