Ray-Pec Community,
Over the past year, I have continued to meet with many of our outstanding teachers and staff members that we are blessed to have as part of the Ray-Pec team. As a way to highlight our team members and tell the stories of what makes each of them special, we started a communication video series last year called "Staff Spotlight." Staff Spotlight focuses on the stories about our teachers and support team members. These stories are told in the team member's own words and center on how we can continue to make a difference for Ray-Pec students, our teammates, and the community. As we know, there are so many wonderful, committed team members in this school district. Staff Spotlight is dedicated to introducing a few of those team members to everyone and hearing their stories.
We have highlighted these team members on Staff Spotlight during this school year:
-
Dulany Potter, first-grade teacher, Eagle Glen Elementary School
-
Jodie Huston, Executive Director, Ray-Pec Public School Foundation
-
Sarah Renfrow, English teacher at Ray-Pec High School and coach at Ray-Pec Enterprise & Design
-
Amanda Reed, 2021 Support Staff Employee of the Year and Child Nutrition Manager at Eagle Glen Elementary School
-
Andrea Becker, middle school teacher, Virtual Instruction Program of Ray-Pec (VIPR)

I invite you to take a look at Staff Spotlight and hear the stories of some of our outstanding team members. Also, if you have someone you’d like to nominate for a future episode of Staff Spotlight, please let me know.
As we approach Teacher and Staff Appreciation week from May 2 to 6, I invite you to join me in thanking those who have been instrumental in your child’s education this year. We have so many things to be thankful for, especially our incredible teachers and support staff members in every role in this district.
Thank you for entrusting your children to the Ray-Pec School District.
Mike Slagle
