President's Message
We hope you are having a wonderful summer and taking time to recharge for the fall. Clearing some time for reflection can also be helpful before making plans for the future, especially during these uncertain times. Featured in this month's Strategic Finance is an article that provides advice on strategic planning during times such as these. The article, Strategic Planning in a Crisis, is simply one of many resources IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) offers to help members stay informed of the latest issues and trends and advance in their careers. Remember to visit the IMA website to learn about all the tools you can use and the events, and activities you can join.

IMA also has resources to support our student members looking forward to rewarding careers in financial management. For example, registration is now open for the virtual IMA Student Career Fair on August 27, 2021. Students will have an opportunity to connect with organizations recruiting students for internships and full-time entry-level positions. Also, IMA is offering this benefit at no cost for qualifying members. Use this link for more information.

In addition, IMA has launched the Young Professionals Leadership Experience Program. This program is designed to help young professionals cultivate their inner leader, and participants will gain a first-hand look into the inner workings of our Global Board of Directors and committees. Use this link for more information.

Urge your colleagues to take advantage of these opportunities and join both IMA and our local chapter. Thankfully, the web site https://www.imanet.org/membership/benefits?ssopc=1 describes many of the benefits you may wish to share. I also encourage you to inform students on how IMA membership enhances their resume and builds a great networking platform. You can share the information found at https://www.imanet.org/students/student-membership?ssopc=1

Thank you for your support of our IMA local chapter and participation in activities!
