THIS SUNDAY'S SERVICE
"Thanissara," Painting by Amy Darling
REV. FLORENCE CAPLOW
Sunday, October 11 at 10:15 a.m. via Livestream

Fear is everywhere these days, and increasing all the time as we get closer to an historic election in the midst of a pandemic. What will it take to get through these times, and to continue to find the courage to respond and live our values, even when we are frightened?

The UUCUC Virtual Choir will be offering a beautiful choral performance.

Join us this Sunday to reflect on the ways we prepare for disasters, and what our different preparations might reveal about us. UUCUC'S "BUDDY SYSTEM"
Staying connected while
UUCUC facilities are closed

During this time of social distancing, staying in touch and checking in with each other is going to be very important. We hope you will consider being part of our "Buddy System" so we can care for one another.

You can sign up here: https://uucuc.breezechms.com/form/2184f1. Buddies will check in with each other regularly by phone to provide connection, companionship, and connections to help if needed. This is a great way to help each other.
JOYS AND SORROWS sent to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org for last Sunday, October 4.

From Barbara Jauhola: Happy and relieved to report that my sister's heart surgery on Wednesday was successful and she is recovering. Sue is not only my sister but is also my oldest and dearest friend. Keeping her in my thoughts and sending wishes for strength and healing her way.

From Rev. Sally: Joy that my husband and I are buying a house here in Urbana!

From Katriena Knights: Joy that my daughter is feeling much better after her surgery.

From Elizabeth Field: A joy to welcome my new puppy Piper into my life!

From Julie Laut: Joy that the turning of the season has brought me renewed energy and strength, as I prepare mentally for the uncertainty in the coming months.

From Nan Holda: A joy that after two years on the market, I finally have an offer on my St. Croix house. This sale will be a huge weight off my shoulders.

From Julie Laut: Sorrow - my heart is heavy at missing seeing my friends in person and being in the beautiful UUCUC sanctuary.

From Ursulla Idleman: Joy that my 15-year-old feline diva, Emerson, is responding so well to treatment for what's either lymphoma or IBD.

Please send your joys or sorrows to joysandsorrows@uucuc.org any time before the Joys and Sorrows portion of the service each Sunday. They will be read aloud.
