Company updates from 8-koi :: summer 2023
I’m delighted and honored to celebrate 8-koi’s 15th anniversary, founded on August 8, 2008. Reflecting on the progress we’ve made, our growth as a company and the significant milestones we’ve reached along our journey, I’m humbled by our team and success.

Fifteen years ago, we embarked on this entrepreneurial adventure with a vision and unwavering commitment to build 8-koi with the core values we continue to uphold – passion, excellence, dependability and thoughtfulness. As we’ve grown and branched into new sectors, we’ve faced challenges and setbacks and remain true to who we are and our vales. Through the collective efforts of our innovative team and the unwavering support of our valued partners, we have consistently overcome challenges and improved along the way.

Throughout the years we’ve adapted to rapidly changing environments, we evolve to meet the needs of our customers and work to exceed expectations. Our pursuit of excellence is the driver of our innovative solutions that empower the businesses we serve.

Our people, the 8-koi team, makes our services possible. Their passion, talent and expertise supports our shared purpose to deliver full spectrum contracting solutions through our four unique attributes of design, build, staff and supply to all our customers.

As we celebrate this milestone, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to our partners, customers and friends. Your trust, support and collaboration have been instrumental in our growth and longevity. It’s your belief in us and your feedback that allows us to improve and generate lasting value. We are committed to you and making a meaningful impact.

Our journey has only begun and together over the next 15 years we’ll continue to create opportunities to improve and make a positive impact.

Thank you for being an integral part of our journey,
Inga I. Young
Founder and President
Although every day is a good day for a dog day, National Take Your Dog to Work Day is celebrated annually on the Friday following Father's Day. 8-koi opened its doors to its four-legged friends on June 23, 2023. Pictured here, Anthony Pereira and Inga Young with Astro and Bessy.

"We love all dogs as dog lovers, mixed breeds and pure breeds," said Best in Show Judge and Dog News Columnist, Pat Craig-Trotter, at the 2021 Westminster Kennel Club. "Now, every pet may not be a show dog, but be assured, every show dog is a pet."
MAKING GREAT PROGRESS WITH OUR 4 Ps:

People, Programs, Process and Pipeline

Together we get the job done and are committed to getting it right.

We continue to gain traction by executing excellent “Human Touch” operations. Here are some of the highlights of this past quarter:

People: We welcomed to our leadership team our new Healthcare Program Manager, Krista Dupell. You'll read more about her here. Our team expanded to include a new project coordinator, electrical engineer and operations standardization system analyst and senior contract specialist. Additionally, we spent time preparing HQ for the ISO audit (more to say about that in the Process segment below).

Pipeline: We won a total of 10 contracts and identified 62 new business development opportunities being evaluated for pursuit. As always, we're pursing both prime and sub-contractor opportunities and are open to opportunities, [email protected]

As a team we continue to build our strengths and provide the tools and the skills it takes to win and keep our customers satisfied.

8-koi team members and current customers make our success possible. We appreciate each of you and the trust you place in us.

MEET THE TEAM
::
Krista Dupell, RN, BSN, MBA

Healthcare Program Manager
8-koi welcomes Krista Dupell to the team. She joins us as Healthcare Program Manager to lead the growth of the Healthcare Division. Connect on LinkedIn.

For the past 23 years, Krista has worked as a nurse in a variety of departments and served in various roles at patients’ bedsides, including a daytime lead medical review nurse working for an occupational health company. The department provided medical determinations for contractors deploying overseas to austere environments in support of Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of State (DoS) contracts to over 15 locations. She was later promoted to the program manager of the department and grew it from four contracts to 11 contracts and expanded lines of business with existing clients.

Discovering a new interest and developing skills in the business side of healthcare fueled her desire to return to school in pursuit of her MBA in Healthcare Management. She attended Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, Florida, and graduated in December 2022. After graduation, Krista reached out directly to 8-koi via LinkedIn. She followed 8-koi for some time and knew current employees from previous experiences. Senior leadership met with Krista in person and she was offered a position as the Healthcare Program Manager to help grow the Healthcare Division.

“I love working here because of the amazing culture. Every employee has a voice and is empowered to be involved in company growth,” Krista said.

Originally from Tacoma, Washington, Krista moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 1994 after high school and lived there for 10 years and attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. She’s a rare find with a unique education and likely the only graduate you’ll meet from that institution considering Wyoming’s state population hovers around 500,000. In 2005, Krista moved to Florida with her where she plans to stay.

Congratulations, Inga! She's been selected to participate in the SBA T.H.R.I.V.E. program. T.H.R.I.V.E. stands for Train. Hope. Rise. Innovate. Venture.
