Give to Care Event Recap
SCRC Summer Fundraiser
A Fa-brew-lous Tea Party, Indeed!

On Friday June 25, more than 50 guests sipped tea with us at SCRC’s Virtual Tea Party Fundraiser. We learned how to make the best cup of tea at home while raising funds to support family caregivers! Colorful hats, mug-nificent teacups, and festive dresses filled the Zoom screen as we celebrated a lovely tea-time together. Guests savored homemade scones and delicate, summery blended tea with Selina Stockley, tea expert and owner of Shakespeare Corner Shoppe and Afternoon Tea in San Diego. Selina guided everyone through a maze of tea tips and secrets, providing a full explanation of how to make a proper cuppa, just like in her hometown of Surrey in England.

Enjoying a cup of tea is great self-care, and this Virtual Tea Party Fundraised allowed for both relaxation for the guests AND support for caregivers in need. Proceeds from the Tea Party Fundraiser support SCRC’s mission of caring for family caregivers. We walk with families through every step of their caregiving journey to help decrease feelings of stress and burn-out by providing respite, education, and support services.

We’d like to send a BIG THANK YOU to our guests and donors, including our Kettle Sponsors: Bristol Hospice and The Law Offices of Jack Stephens, J.D, L.L.M.

Sip Sip Hooray to a successful Virtual Tea Party Fundraiser!

SCRC'S Caregiver of the Month Spotlight: Mr. A.D.

In recognition of Men’s Health Month, we want to highlight Mr. A.D. as our June Caregiver of the Month!

Mr. A.D. has been caring for his wife assisting with her medical appointments, mental health, and giving her the support she needs.

This loving father has been a rock in the family. “Caring for my Navy Veteran wife includes driving her to appointments and making sure she’s supported. SCRC taught me how to balance the responsibilities of caregiving to keep our family strong and healthy.”
