"My favorite thrift store in Oceanside hands down. Friendly staff, nice things, and love their cause. Will always donate my stuff to this thrift store" - Alli T.
Great things are happening at the thrift store that you don't want to miss! We all know Last Chance at Life Thrift Store is one of the best stops in Oceanside, but now the word is out and we are excited to share the buzz.

What's the big news? Three words: donations, donations, donations. Thanks to the generosity of our corporate partners, like My Sister's Closet in San Diego and My Sister's Attic in Encinitas, the store has been bursting with high quality donations.

To make room for these amazing items, we are rotating the merchandise regularly so the prices get better and better over time and every visit you will find something new.

Linda Tusei, the new manager at the thrift store, filled us in on some more changes. "I am so happy to be at LCAL. The store has made incredible progress over the past several years and I'm hoping to build on that success. The staff, volunteers, and I want LCAL to be the go-to thrift store in North County."

The store hours have changed to Tuesday through Saturday, and the hours have changed to add one more hour of shopping per day, 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Donations are accepted up to one hour before closing.

According to Linda, "The thrift store is an option for everyone who would like to support the incredible mission of LCAL. We accept gently used or new clothing, electronics, sporting goods, housewares, home decor, pet toys and equipment, bed and bath, lawn and garden, and more. We can also accept furniture donations by appointment."

Support local, support recycling, support LCAL, and support yourself by stopping by the store located at 3296 Mission Avenue in Oceanside. Or, hop on our Facebook or Instagram pages to get a peek at the latest merchandise.

New sales, new merchandise, new events—this is a great time to check out the Last Chance at Life Thrift Store!
Long time LCAL resident Frida was adopted recently after almost two years!

Monique, Frida's foster, told us about Frida's favorite things, "We had Frida for about a year and a half. She lived with me, my husband, her 2 doggie fur siblings, our cat and countless foster cats and kittens. Which brings me to her favorite things...one of Frida's favorite things is kittens!"

According to Monique, Frida doted on kittens and loved to be around them, whining and walking upright whenever Monique carried the kittens.

Frida arrived at LCAL with some challenging medical conditions: mammary tumors, dental disease, skin infection, and an ear infection. Thanks to your support, and the amazing work of our fosters, Frida had the surgeries she needed, a safe home to recuperate, and the time to find her perfect home!

Frida's new home is with Sheila, who lives alone and is spoiling her just like Frida deserves. They go on multiple walks a day and Frida has tons of fans in her new retirement community. Sheila cannot say enough about what a good, easy, sweet girl she is. They make a perfect pair.
Peridot is a sweet girl having the time of her life in her foster home! When she first came to us, she was pretty quiet and to herself but as she is settling into her foster home, she is starting to show us who the “real” Peridot is. According to her foster, “she is such a big personality, curious, loving, stubborn, and adventurous. She loves to be with you all the time, and if she senses someone is leaving she either stands in front of the door or more recently gets in the car.”

Peridot came to us underweight, weighing in at only 42 lbs. Once she gets a little weight put back on, she will be spayed so she will be ready to go into her new forever home.
