Volunteer as a Lay Reader

Would you like to read at the services? Please consider signing up for one of the two slots at every recorded and in-person service.
We would like to have as many different readers as possible to give our congregation an opportunity to hear and see from a variety of parishioners.

Please pray for Maria Pineiro, Taylor Stukes, Sam Belcher, Greg and Christie Stevens, Jenny and Bob Porter, Laura Bracci and Glenda Underwood as they prepare for Confirmation and Reception.

Easter Baptism
Please pray for Paxton Searcy, and his parents Julia and Houston, as he prepares for full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ's body, the Church on April 4.
|
|
Baptism is full initiation, by water and the Holy Spirit, into Christ's body the church. People of all ages are baptized at St. Benedict's. If you desire Holy Baptism for you or your child, or are even just curious about baptism, please reach out to Mo. Jenna. I am trying to get a sense of how many folks might be desiring baptism this Eastertide and beyond.

Eva Lukkonen Sullivan, voice teacher and speech pathologist, will lead a talk with information and exercises to help keep voices healthy. This workshop is for everyone, not just people who sing! Especially during this time, stress can affect our voices, and Eva will present some tools and resources to help all of us, whether you use your voice by talking throughout the day, and/or enjoy singing alone or with others.
Here is a talk Eva gave in 2019, "5 Ways to Keep Your Voice Healthy Now and into the Future".

We are introducing a Lenten calendar for your kids to peruse during this season! It works just like a virtual Advent calendar-- open the door corresponding to the current day of Lent. There will be an image, or a song, or a read-aloud based on the lectionary readings of the day. I hope this will help your children spend a little time each day thinking about what Lent means to them. You can find the calendar HERE.

The Women's Bible Study meet via Zoom on Monday mornings at 10:30 and welcomes any and all who might be interested. Currently we are studying Paul’s Letter to the Colossians. Please use the attached Zoom link to jump aboard and then save that link for further use as it is a recurring link.

Sign up for a round of golf with your St. B's friends at Indian Hills Country Club on April 19.
If you don't play golf but still want to help raise money for the Outreach ministries of St. B's, find a local business to be a sponsor, or sign up for a sponsorship yourself. Thanks to Zag Equipment Sales (Tim Gould) and K-9 Coach (Amber & Jarette Burckhalter) for already signing up as sponsors.
Please know that due to COVID restrictions we are delaying the Low Country Boil Dinner but will be back in August 28, 2021.

|
The Golf Tournament and Auction will be taking place in separate months. Our goal is to get further along in the pandemic and vaccinations, so we can have an in-person dinner and auction. We’re STILL looking for talented individuals to serve on the Auction/Dinner Committee.
Contact Bob Porter (770-712-9984) or Robin Cubbage (404-276-5345).

Are you ready to get back to the people and activities you love? Your vaccination brings us one day closer to controlling the pandemic.

A reminder to all parishioners that St. Benedict's is committed to the various care needs of its member families. A dedicated group of volunteers are continuing to offer their time to serve our church community within various pastoral care capacities, including prayer requests, transportation, meal delivery, Eucharistic visits with Diocesan-approved safe protocols, and more. Mo. Jenna is also readily available for prayers, calls and/or visits for those in need.
Do not hesitate to reach out to Kerry Thomas or Anna Best about Pastoral care needs for yourself, your family, or your friends. We are here to help and serve!
