Message from Pastor Carolyn

Dear Saint Mark Family,

God’s grace be unto you.

Earlier this week, a member came by my office to share a pleasant encounter she had with a resident in the neighborhood. She was volunteering for “Punch on Peachtree” when he stopped to ask what was happening. She then struck up a conversation and began telling him about Saint Mark. After a few minutes in the conversation, he promised her he will certainly visit our church.

Standing there in my office with her face lit up, she said “Pastor Carolyn, it is really good for us to be outside and be visible in the community. People are now seeing us and we are getting to meet and talk with them. I don’t know when he will come or if he will come, but it is good for us to be outside.”

Indeed! Yes, our presence in the community is important, and we will continue to be present to meet, greet, and welcome our neighbors - both old and new, and let them know there is a place at Saint Mark for them.

Thanks to all the Sunday School classes and groups that have volunteered to do “Punch and Peachtree.” You are being the face of Saint Mark in the community.

This Sunday we will continue to be present in the neighborhood, with our BBQ on the terrace. This will be immediately after the 11am service. If you attend the 9am service, you will have time to go home and be back by 12:15pm. And we would love to see you there. It will be great food, great company, great music, and great fun. Dressed comfortably for worship. Bring your sunscreen and sunshades. And let’s have some fun.

Please remember to bring a backpack to support our Backpack Drive. Below are the link for the Amazon List:

This past Sunday we welcomed three new members into the life of Saint Mark - Emily Opalinski, Anna Radar, and Aaron Groves. It was a joyous occasion to welcome the newest members. Please greet and welcome them when you see them. Introduce yourselves, and let them know how glad you are they have become a part of the family.

Finally, Sunday we will continue our “God in the Movies” series and we will look at “The Hunch Back of Notre Dame.” We will delve into the truth that there is a place for everyone. Come and let us worship God together.

I look forward to seeing you Sunday.

God’s grace,

Pastor Carolyn.
