We have a few fairly full Sundays coming up in Youth ministry, with Sunday School, Confirmation and Youth Group all happening on each of the next three Sundays, as well as the rehearsals for Godspell. Here's what this Sunday looks like:

10 am - Sunday School - we'll explore the theme of Culture this week as we move through our "Grace Still Works" series.

11 am - Confirmation with Pastor Pete, looking at Sin, Grace and Salvation

4 pm - Youth group for a mix of games and conversation around the theme of Competition.

All three will be using the same Zoom link.

Sunday 21st, 28th:
Sunday School at 10 am, Confirmation at 11 am, Youth Group at 4 pm.

Sunday March 7th:
Sunday School at 10 am, Youth Group at 4 pm.

We recognize that for the next few weeks, this means there is a clash between youth group and Godspell rehearsals, but feel this is the best way to offer everyone something on Sunday afternoons without overdoing the amount of time we are on Zoom. It also means we have 2 separate Zoom links for Sunday afternoons, please make sure you click the right one. The Godspell link is further down the page.
Godspell Updates

Thanks to everyone in the cast for your great singing in our virtual rehearsal on Sunday! This Sunday, we will continue learning all the songs in the show virtually from 4:00 to 5:15. After the chorus rehearsal, Jesus and Judas will continue rehearsing from 5:15 to 6:00 in order to begin learning their roles and solos. As you can see in the master schedule, there still have not been any changes made since the initial release. Please continue to contact Claire with all known schedule conflicts throughout the spring.

Youth Music Ensembles

Based on the extension of the 10-person gathering restriction, our new projected return date for in-person bells, choir, and instrumental ensemble is March 14. In the meantime, you can still record "Lead Me, Lord" if you have not already done so. We have also opened this up to the Chancel Choir in an effort to bring in more singers, but we challenge the youth to produce more recordings than the adults! You can click here for the instructions. Please note that the absolute last day to submit a recording of this piece is February 20.
Update on "Lake J"

It is with sadness that we announce that Music & Worship Arts Week at Lake Junaluska will not be happening this year due to so much ongoing COVID uncertainty. While this is not unexpected, it's still sad to think about going back-to-back years without this amazing experience. Here's to the hope of a great reunion at Lake J on June 19-24, 2022!
