WyTN Zoom License Re-Enrollment
Please note: if you have already re-enrolled since June 7, 2021, and have received a confirmation email, please disregard additional reminders. If you have any questions, please email wy-telehealth@uwyo.edu.

If you were enrolled to receive a no-cost, HIPAA-secure Zoom license for providing telehealth from the Wyoming Telehealth Network (WyTN), you must re-enroll in the program. The reason for re-enrollment is to decrease the amount of providers, facilities and students who, for whatever reason, no longer need access to their license for providing telehealth. The re-enrollment provides the WyTN with a due diligence process and ensures proper usage of the Zoom® licenses for quality assurance purposes.

Re-Enrollment Deadline: September 1, 2021
Anyone who does not re-enroll will be unlinked from the WyTN's Zoom account

July Provider Spotlight
Cole Weaver DDS, MS, is an orthodontist at Smile Doctors Braces, diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics, and a lover of all things Wyoming. Dr. Weaver is no stranger to the benefits of teledentistry. He is an advocate for the ability to help patients get access to needed dental care they deserve, both affordably and conveniently. Modernizing access to dentistry is slow coming, but it is proven to increase access to care using innovative technological advancements including Artificial Intelligence (AI), web applications and Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM). These exciting developments are helping patients across Wyoming get the access they need without multiple office visits and added costs.
What motivates you to continue offering telehealth services?
Cole Weaver: The convenience and peace of mind it provides for my patients. Wyoming is a large state and many of our patients drive from far away to seek our services. When we can answer questions and fix problems by leveraging the technology of Dental Monitoring software it improves the quality and access to care for my patients.

What is your proudest accomplishment with telehealth?
Cole: There have been so many milestones on the telehealth journey for me. We track metrics of our office so we can monitor our successes and address our failures. One of the metrics we track deals with emergency visits or as we call them in our office, comfort visits. After implementing Dental Monitoring practices in our office,we saw a steep decline in the number of in-office comfort visits needed to care for our patients. I believe telehealth increases the patient’s access to their provider which saves time and unnecessary visits. In our offices the numbers prove that.
Home vs Office vs Telehealth for Medication Enhancement Recovery (HOMER)
Is your community affected by opioid use disorder (OUD)?

Do you provide medication assisted treatment (MAT) for your patients with opioid dependence or OUD?

What if you could provide a personalized recommendation of MAT induction for your patients with OUD and know you were offering the best chance for successful long-term management based in evidence?
HOMER is a new national study comparing three methods of induction for MAT for OUD. This study will help determine if certain patient and practice characteristics make patients better candidates for one method over the others. Results will help fill a gap in the evidence around effectively treating OUD with MAT in primary care settings. HOMER will equip primary care practices with useful information to help provide the best care.

The three methods compared are: 1) home induction (asynchronous, unobserved), 2) office induction (synchronous, observed), and 3) telehealth induction (synchronous phone or video contact, observed).

The HOMER study is a partnership between the State Network of Colorado Ambulatory Practices and Partners (SNOCAP) and the American Academy of Family Physicians National Research Network. HOMER will work with 100 primary care practices across the country and will enroll 1200 participants.
Participants will be patients:
  • Identified by their primary care team as having opioid dependence and OUD and opting to receive MAT with buprenorphine.
  • Randomized to begin treatment with home induction (asynchronous, unobserved) OR office induction (synchronous, observed) OR telehealth induction (synchronous phone or video contact, observed).
  • Ages 16 and older, pregnant women are also eligible.
  • Enrolled begins in April 2021.

Practices will:
  • Identify ~12 patients (between 6 – 20) over a 12-month period to participate.
  • Receive $200 for attending a required, 90-minute study orientation webinar.
  • Receive $200/enrolled patient and $35/month/patient for 9 months of monitoring and data tracking.
  • Receive access to MAT resources, including treatment protocols, forms, and guidelines.
  • Begin participation in Spring/Summer 2021.

Join us in this effort to support patients seeking to overcome the grip of OUD and practices looking to provide the most effective evidence-based treatment for individual patients.
