This week, I was in Congress working hard for you. Here are the highlights:
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I’m so excited this year's U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree is from California, and that my team could join with our communities in Brea and City of Industry for tree lighting ceremonies. Traditions like these make our holiday season merry and bright!
Team Young was glad to attend the 17th annual Fullerton Women's Leadership Forum to honor women who lead our community in business, public service and education. Congratulations to the incredible awardees!
  • Elvia Rubalcava, Warrior Award
  • Aimee Aul, Public Service Leadership Award
  • Leanna Forcucci, Philanthropic Leadership Award
  • Jinan Montecristo, Business Leadership Award
  • Gardenia Margarita Montero, WCOF Rising Star Award
Happy 30th Birthday, City of Chino Hills! I was honored to celebrate our community's vast history and the more than 82,000 residents impacting our culture and economy each day on the House Floor.

I'm so proud to represent Chino Hills in Congress and am committed to working together to ensure our community thrives for many generations to come.
Great to discuss public safety issues impacting Orange County with Sheriff Barnes and Senator Pat Bates at a legislative roundtable hosted by the Orange County Sheriff's Advisory Council and Drug Use Is Life Abuse.

Rising crimes and break-ins of small businesses in California reaffirm the need to support our law enforcement as they work to keep communities safe.

That’s why I support the North Orange County Public Safety Task Force, and I recently introduced an amendment that would have directed the Small Business Administration to report on crimes impacting small business owners, which unfortunately the Majority voted down. I'll keep working to find ways to address rising crime and support small business owners.
Septembers Taproom and Eatery is now open in Chino Hills! I'm grateful to our local entrepreneurs and proud to support them as a member of the Small Business Committee.
Team Young had a blast at the Chino Hills Hanukkah celebration!

I’m wishing our Jewish brothers and sisters in CA-39, across the nation and around the world Hanukkah Sameach! I hope this Festival of Lights brings light and happiness for you and your loved ones. Happy Hanukkah!
I’m so glad to see that Goldenrod Park in Placentia is officially reopened! I know this park will have a positive impact on our community. Thank you to the city and the incredible staff and volunteers who made this possible.
The Korean American Special Education Center Harmonia Ensemble Christmas Concert was a wonderful way to kick off the Christmas season!

Team Young was honored to recognize the ensemble members, conductor, and KASEC for all their work to uplift and encourage those with special needs in our Korean American community.
This week, I introduced the bipartisan Sudan Democracy Act with my colleagues Rep. Dean Phillips (MN-03) and Rep. Michael McCaul (TX-10).

This bill would impose targeted sanctions against individuals and entities actively threatening civilian-led democracy and human rights in Sudan. It aims to apply pressure on those responsible for the military takeover of Sudan’s civilian-led democratic transition in October of this year and the deaths of Sudanese civilians.

The United States is a beacon of hope and opportunity and must support our allies in their pursuit of liberty and democracy. I will continue to do all I can to promote human rights and freedom across the nation and the globe.
I had so much fun spending Thanksgiving volunteering with loved ones and teaching my daughter-in-law Ahlia how to make some Korean dishes like Galbi Jjim, a braised short rib dish. My heart is full.

I wish you and your family joy, peace, happiness, safety and good health this holiday season!
I am committed to helping California's 39th District get through the COVID-19 pandemic better than before. As we reopen our communities and get people safely back to work, I will do all that I can to make sure my constituents receive the relief you deserve.
