Provider Happenings

Fostering Love

One Community is providing 2,000 bags for children in foster care in our catchment. The Fostering Love initiative aims to lift up the self-worth of children being removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. Trillium is providing these bags to DSS Child Protective Staff throughout our 28 counties to give to children as they enter the foster care system.

To a child, it is more than just a bag: it’s a dignified alternative to the current use of a trash bag or box to carry their items in. Each bag includes a soft blanket, stuffed toy, hygiene supplies, and any other personal items the child brings with them. It is hard to imagine what this is like for a child. Our hope is these items provide each child with some level of comfort for this part of their journey.

Behavioral Health Screening Programs

Trillium Health Resources has established behavioral health screening programs to assist providers and practitioners in determining the likelihood that a member has a coexisting substance use and mental health disorder.

In order to access these free screenings, please visit our Behavioral Health Screenings webpage.

Crisis Intervention Team (CIT)

Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training educates law enforcement officers about the signs of individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, or intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).

Click to view our CIT Brochure.

Watch this short Video to learn how and when to contact a Crisis Intervention Officer for assistance.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss a training, email CIT@TrilliumNC.org.

Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment

The goal of Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT) is to assure that individual children get the health care they need when they need it – the right care to the right child at the right time in the right setting. The benefit provides comprehensive and preventive health care services for children under age 21 who are enrolled in Medicaid giving them the opportunity to reach for the stars.
