February 2021
Stay warm, Tulsa!

It's a cold one this week. While our libraries are only open for curbside, you can access thousands of free resources online with your library card! If you ever need help navigating our databases, apps, or website, please do not hesitate to contact the library and ask.

And as we head into icy weather, check our website at tulsalibrary.org for announcements about closures and changes to our hours of operation.

Tech Talk: 3D Modeling for Beginners

Join us Friday, February 19 at noon as we explore the basics of 3D modeling with free web and downloadable tools. We will briefly cover how to use tools like TinkerCad and Thingiverse, and then how to download files, change settings and preview files using Cura.

We will also cover how you can use the library's 3D printers to turn your designs into reality.
Video for the Web with Central Arkansas Library System

Join the Central Arkansas Library System on Tuesday, February 23 at 1 p.m. for a program on editing video for the web. In this session, you will cover lighting, angles, recording audio, editing video, and more.

Find more details about the class at the link below. You can download the ShotCut, the video editing software used in the class, for free. Prepare for the class by installing the software ahead of time.
Featured Service: Libby App by OverDrive

Did you know you get free access to eBooks, audiobooks, and magazines with your Tulsa City-County Library card? With the Libby app, you can do all that from any smartphone, tablet, and computer. Head to your app store and search for "Libby". Log in with your library card and start downloading!

Need some reading recommendations? I am reading the latest issues of PC Magazine, Smithsonian Magazine, and WIRED. I'm listening to Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. And I'm reading How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi.
