Tuesday, July 25 | Drop-In Discussion: “Which Two-Tiered Justice System Are We Talking About?!”

Many advocates of former President Trump are proclaiming that we now have a "Two-Tiered Justice System", especially as they equate Trump's indictments against their complaint that Hunter Biden is only getting a "slap on the wrist" for his crimes. Their complaint is based on the Founders' guiding principle of “Equal Justice Under Law” which is inscribed over the entrance to our Supreme Court. Let's explore whether or not we have a two-or-more-tier Justice System—in other words, whether or not we have ever achieved the goal of "Equal Justice Under Law". Drop-in Discussions meet via Zoom on Tuesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm. Look on the First Universalist homepage for details and a link, or click the Zoom meeting link in this blurb title!

Summer MOCHA Update!

Although MOCHA takes a break during the summer months, we still would like to offer the opportunity for refreshments and conversation after services. Here’s the plan: We will have cold beverages and some small treats available to be put out. There will NOT be coffee. If you sign up, before the service, you will need make up a pitcher of ice tea or lemonade and put it and a pitcher of water in the fridge. There would be a treat of some sort to put out, along with napkins. After refreshments, you will need to clean up. There is a signup sheet for each summer Sunday on the refreshment table. If you would be willing, please sign up to help!

Joys & Sorrows

Please send your Joys and Sorrows to be read at our Sunday Worship service to JoysandSorrows@uuroc.org.

A Joy from First Universalist: A big THANK YOU to those who joined us on Saturday as we marched in the Rochester Pride Parade! And hearty thanks to Kitty Forbush, Connie Valk, and Tom Williams for being our most excellent parade coordinators!

Some Sorrows from Lois & Greg Baum: Greg's eyelid surgery is Monday, July 24th. Also some sad news Greg's brother, Kurt, died last Tuesday, at age 76. Please hold Greg in your heart.

Note: When you email a joy or sorrow to us, you are giving us permission to read it aloud at our Sunday service and possibly publish it in this weekly email. Thank you!
