Monthly Update - March 2021


Hello Everyone!

We have some exciting news to report from the Mile High Flight Program. We submitted several names for possible selection to the “Aim High Flight Academy” this summer. AHFA is the rebranded and upgraded A.C.E. program, sponsored by the United States Air Force. AHFA offers an all-expenses-paid, 3-week event at Peter Prince Field in Milton, FL and ends with the student’s first solo.

Several of our students competed in a nationwide search for the most highly qualified to participate in this extraordinary opportunity. Out of the 300 applicants AHFA received, they selected 70 youth from across the nation for their program. We are thrilled to announce that four of our talented students earned invitations to travel to Florida and learn how to fly! Congratulations to Apsan Bishwokarma, Dylan Romine, Hakeem Kahleel, and Pelle Krabbenhoeft! We know they will represent us well!

Our very own “Top Gun” LTC James Harvey was recently featured in a televised interview on Fox 31. LTC Harvey continues to be a great inspiration to us all.

Red Tail Angels - The Story of The Tuskegee Airmen (Episode 01) 

There is an excellent three part series on the history of the Tuskegee Airmen we are honored to share. We will present the second and third parts of this dynamic series in future MHF updates.
Honoring Black History
In honor of Black History Month, MHF student Isaac Grevious and Captain Eric Mosley represented the program at the Boeing Blue Sky Aviation Gallery at Centennial Airport. Grevious and Mosley spent over five hours manning the Mile High Flight table and sharing information about the program and the history of the Tuskegee Airmen. While there, Captain Mosley had the rare privilege of sitting in the cockpit mockup of a B-25 bomber, reminiscent of his father, LTC John Mosley.
