Bright Ideas Bryant

(Arkansas)

June had themes of water, ocean life, and weather! In Mrs. Amanda's class they were learning about octopuses and where they live and what they eat. While learning about ocean life, they used colors of the ocean to learn how to use a paintbrush by putting the paint only on the brush. They were also learning how to use back and fourth motions so they do not ruin the bristles. They had a lesson in language and that "octo" means eight, and how an octopus has eight tentacles.

Collierville Christian Academy

(Tennessee)

This summer at Collierville Christian Academy has been one for the books! We celebrated all our amazing dads this past month with a "Donuts with Dudes" event where we enjoyed donuts and playing cornhole with dad. Our summer camp has been traveling the world and had a Shakespeare Experience to learn about England where they had an interactive poetry reenactment through joyous movement and laughter! The children wrote their own poems and acted them out. We've gone on a lot of adventures like nature walks, museums, water play days, and bowling! We've been working on our fine motor skills by practicing holding and using scissors correctly, and we worked on using our critical thinking and math skills while building structures!

Stepping Stones Academy

(Texas)

We are well into our Summer Camp here at Stepping Stones Academy; we have theme weeks like Super Hero Week, Pirate Week, 4th of July, Underwater Week, and so on. The Fort Worth Firefighters came to our school. We learned about fire safety and how to trust firefighters when needed. The children were able to go inside the fire truck. This was such a fun and educational experience.

Preschool 4 classroom did a fun and educational activity. The kids circle and find their names on 2 large pieces of butcher paper. We made it more fun by having the kids set up teams to see which team found their names first. This fun activity is great for name recognition and phonics learning. The children enjoyed it so much and it was nice to see them recognize their friend’s name as well.

We also celebrated Donuts with Dad in celebration of Father’s Day.  The children ate breakfast with Dad which consisted of donuts, fresh fruit, and orange juice. What a treat to share with our loving dads! We also had an open house for the community. We had a bounce house, games, face painting, and an ice cream truck. The ice cream truck was a hit due to our Texas scorching weather!

We want to spotlight our staff that did an amazing job at our open house despite the hot Texas weather. Great job to all of those who took the time to help promote our wonderful school; we could not have done it without you. ~Director at Stepping Stones Academy
