“Chiropractic students are the future of our profession, and as a cohort, they face very different challenges than many docs who have been out in the field for a decade or more with the evolution of education and current economy,” says Sherman College Continuing Education Director and Alumni Association President Dr. Jillian Farrell, ’09. “If we want the chiropractic profession to thrive, we must invest in our future. We hope for this annual event to gain traction with students navigating their path toward practice.”

With more than 100 students registered from eight different schools, the first DC2B ChiroCon was a great success. DC2B Julie said of the event, “I thoroughly enjoyed learning from all five doctors who shared their knowledge with us. I have more than 10 pages of notes I took at the event.”

The Chiropractic Health Center faculty recognizes an intern each month who excels in clinical performance, patient management, professionalism, and analytical and adjusting technique.

The December 2020 Intern of the Month was Craig A. Bryan III of Monroeville, AL. Craig graduates in June 2021 and plans to open his own practice.

Twelve chiropractors recently earned the Academy of Chiropractic Philosophers (ACP) designation, completing the coursework in Sherman College’s ACP program on December 6, 2020, in Spartanburg, SC. Each received a certificate and medallion of completion.

The ACP is a one-year course designed to enhance the understanding, depth, and breadth of chiropractic philosophy. Sessions challenge the thinking process and the application of philosophy in the chiropractic profession. Successful completion of the 100-hour program leads to membership in the prestigious Academy of Chiropractic Philosophers, and the ICA Council on Philosophical Chiropractic Standards accepts the successful completion of the ACP for 100 hours toward its Diplomate in Philosophical Chiropractic Standards.

Dean of Clinical Sciences Armand Rossi, D.C., presented a live seminar for continuing education credits here at Sherman College earlier this month.

Dr. Rossi’s seminar was titled “The Essentials of Perinatal Care” and was offered by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. For more information on live CE events, visit our website.

In keeping with the college’s Obsessed With Student Success mindset, this February, the Office of Academic Support is excited to announce the creation of a tutoring center where students may meet with peer tutors for individual and group sessions.

This space, which will be in Scallon F276, will allow students to connect with tutors for supplemental instruction via appointments scheduled through Schoology and impromptu tutoring sessions, as time permits.
