A PRAYER FOR FEBRUARY
BY KATIE HIGGINS '99, VICE PRESIDENT OF MISSION
God-ever-with-us,
You created us in and for love,
and You sustain us each day with Your grace.

a more just and loving world.
Amen.

GENESIS CONTINUES DESPITE PANDEMIC
For her junior-year Agape Experiment,
Lucy Kilbane '21 worked with the Cleveland Clinic to create a pull-tab system for victims of human trafficking to alert their healthcare provider that they do not feel safe. For her 40-hour Genesis Project, Lucy pursued the field further by observing and interviewing a local a forensic nurse and eventually creating a website dedicated to educating the community about human trafficking. Upon graduation from Magnificat, Lucy plans to pursue a degree in nursing.

"My Genesis experience, a combination of forensic nursing and exploring the effects of human trafficking in the healthcare system, further inspires me to use my voice to speak up for those who are victimized by the evils of social inequality."
Gabby Santos '21 had the opportunity to virtually shadow a pediatric dietician for her Genesis Project. After learning more about the challenges that parents face to create meal plans that are both healthy and appetizing for their young children, Gabby created a well-balanced and tasty 5-day meal plan for toddlers.

"My Genesis project allowed me to gain a greater understanding of the different roles of pediatric dieticians. I was surprised by how interesting and exciting it was to create nutritional meals for toddlers. I learned through my experience that I would definitely like to work with children in the future and I want to go into a career in the healthcare field."
JUNIOR AGAPE EXPERIMENTS ARE UNDERWAY!
Each Spring, Junior Theologians engage in the Agape Experiment, an initiative wherein students develop a research-based project that strives to make the world more loving and just. They are currently in the exploration phase and will be begin to form driving questions to hone in on their projects in the coming weeks. At the end of the semester, the experiments are presented to faculty and staff to review and offer feedback. Many students carry the work of their experiment forward even after the semester has concluded.
