Message from the Executive Director

June was a great month for the Chamber with our largest Chamber Challenge Golf Outing, five Ribbon Cuttings, the launch of Lemonade Day Tiffin and the Slice of Seneca County Pizza Trail, the collaboration video with The Poignon Project as they are impacted by construction season, and more!

A special welcome to our newest members Diversified Coaching, LLC, Gallon, Takacs & Boissoneault Co., LPA, Overflow Ministries, SS Cleaning Services, St. Joseph Catholic Church, The Resiliency Edge, Tiffin Kiwanis Club, and Under Pressure Renovating, LLC.

There is so much more to the game of golf besides learning how to hit the ball. Learn the game of golf and enjoy all it’s aspects by PGA Professional, Stewart O’Malley, and the team out at Mohawk Golf & Country Club tomorrow, Thursday, July 6, at 6 PM. Proper procedures, sportsmanship, rules and etiquette are just a few of the things that are covered in this Power Hour at the beautiful Mohawk Golf & Country Club. After you learn the basics, hit the range and practice your new skills.

You do not need to own golf clubs to attend. Please register in advance so that we can give a proper count. Register here.

Join us for the Educators Appreciation Breakfast on August 10 at 7:30 AM at Heidelberg University's Seiberling Gymnasium! Thank you to our major sponsors: Heidelberg University, Terra State Community College, Tiffin University, and Vanguard-Sentinel Career & Technology Centers!

This event allows the Seneca County community the opportunity to welcome new educators from all of the surrounding schools and universities. The Outstanding Educator of the Year award and the Above and Beyond award will also be presented. If you'd like to register for the breakfast or become and Educational Supporter Sponsor, you can do so here.

The Around the Town event hosted by the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Heidelberg University and Tiffin University will take place on Madison Street in between South Washington Street and Jefferson Street in Downtown Tiffin on August 20 at 12:30 PM.

The Around the Town event gives incoming and returning students the opportunity to become familiar with the businesses and organizations that make up Seneca County. In previous years, nonprofit organizations have been successful in recruiting volunteers from the universities at this event.

During the event, registered businesses and organizations set up a booth to showcase their products and services to the university students. The students, along with campus leaders, walk to the event from their respective campuses. Organizations are asked to sign up online here.

The Chamber has announced that they have partnered with Croghan Colonial Bank to launch Lemonade Day in Tiffin for 2023.

Lemonade Day, a well-established global national youth entrepreneurship program that teaches leadership and business skills by encouraging children to launch a lemonade business in their community. Since 2007, Lemonade Day has immersed 1.5 million kids (and counting) in their entrepreneurial and experiential learning program. Participants have collectively earned more than $352.5 million in sales, generating $270 million in profit, and $142.5 million in donations.

Chaperoned by one or more caring adults, who serves as youth mentors, these young business owners set up their lemonade stands in schools, parks, neighborhoods, places of worships, retail centers, marketplaces, and other public spaces to maximize their sales opportunities. Kids who participate in Lemonade Day are taught how to set goals, develop a business plan and pitch their plan to seek an investment, be creative through brand and marketing, and put their plan into action to achieve their dreams. They are encouraged to spend some of their hard-earned money on themselves; save some and open a bank account and share some with a charity.

Lemonade Day will conclude with the opportunity for participants to set up a lemonade stand on August 5 and 6. Those who are interested in signing up for the program can do so online at www.LemonadeDay.org/Tiffin. Learn more here.

The Deli at frost Village Cust Ribbon to Celebrate Opening

Congratulations to the team at The Deli at Frost Village on their ribbon cutting!

Local business owners, Dave and Amber Spridgeon, renovated a 1913 church on Frost Parkway into a New York style deli. The current space showcases original wood floors, a vaulted ceiling, stained-glass window, and chandeliers that simulate dawn and dusk on a cloud painted ceiling.

Inspired by a traditional New York style deli, you won't have to travel as far to get the same experience right here in Tiffin. Deli is now defined as hot soups, fresh salads by the pound, and two-fisted sandwiches. Walking through the doors you will be greeted with smell the fresh baked bread, the visually stunning floral arrangements to match the historical stained glass that adorns the building, and the smiling staff waiting to make you up something delicious!

The Deli at Frost Village is located at 155 Frost Parkway and is open Monday through Thursday, 8 AM to 3 PM and Friday and Saturday 8 AM to 7 PM. Enjoy the scenes of the historic Frost Village, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy all that Seneca County has to offer! Learn more here.
