Moosehaven Senior Olympics
More than 40 Moosehaven residents gathered last month to participate in the inaugural Moosehaven Senior Olympics!

Residents had their chance to 'go for the gold' in basketball, golf, billiards, bowling, darts, corn hole, pong, and more.

The event was organized by residents and all events were hosted on campus utilizing Moosehaven's many amenities, including the New York Sports Complex.

Kudos to the residents who planned and executed a fun and active weekend of events, and congratulations to the senior athletes who competed! Visit our website for the full photo gallery.

Hurricane Idalia Update
Thank you to our amazing Moosehaven staff who stayed on campus throughout Hurricane Idalia to ensure the safety of our residents. This includes all of our nursing and healthcare staff, resident services, maintenance, security, warehouse, housekeeping, and dining services.

Moosehaven weathered the storm, and we were blessed indeed to have been spared. Our oldest tree, estimated by local tree surgeons to be approximately 500 years old, is still standing proud and tall. Like The Moose, we have survived countless storms and by pulling together we not only survive, we thrive!

Visit our photo gallery for pictures of residents enjoying themselves throughout the stormy weather.
Fall Prevention Class
The Moosehaven Therapy Team hosted a Fall Prevention Class in August for residents.

National Fall Prevention Awareness Month is held annually to share effective strategies for increasing mobility and strength as well as practical safety solutions. Research shows that one-third of falls can be prevented by managing risk factors and helping seniors to optimize their environment.
NASCAR Race Day Party
More than 50 residents gathered on August 20 to watch the NASCAR Cup Series “Go Bowling at The Glen” at Watkins Glen International Raceway.

They enjoyed games, snacks, and cheering on Moose-favorite Ross Chastain, driver of the No. 1 Moose Chevrolet.

This marks the third Cup Series season the Moose has paired with Chastain who is a member of Tice and Shores, Florida, Lodge #1287. Chastain visited Moosehaven in November and frequently stops in at Moose lodges around the country during race weekends.

The Moose Chevrolet will race again on Oct. 29 at Martinsville Speedway.
Please join us in saying "welcome home" to our newest residents who decided to take advantage of the wonderful retirement at Moosehaven!
