3/1/21 ~ Parent Newsletter
Mrs. Britton,
Principal

Dear Beloved Community,

It’s hard to believe that is March 1st. As we embark on this month, we will soon begin the final trimester of our school year together. This month also brings the season of spring. The changing of the season will be a welcome change for me; how about you? I am not a big fan of grey skies, rain, or even winter.

One thing that fills my cup and my soul is sunshine. I am the type of person whose mood and outlook on life can be greatly affected for the good just by spending some time in the sunshine. I am reminded, by the prophet Isaiah, that there are benefits to the sunshine, however, that prolonged periods of time, or extreme temperatures, can, in fact, be negative and produce unwanted results. Thus, the need for water…rain.

Our God is a big God. He knows what I need when I need it, and whether it comes in the form of sunshine or rain, even when days are tough, months seem long, or a season seems endless, as I trust in Him he will water my soul in a way that yields incredible beauty and peace. My prayer is that we enter a new season this month, that:

The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

Teacher Appreciation Week: 5/4 - 5/7

Do you have the gift of hospitality and want to help make Teacher Appreciation Week Special?

We are looking for a couple of parents to help plan and make Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week (5/4-5/7) extra special. Please consider volunteering for this opportunity.

If you are interested please email PTF E-Board member, Rebekah Metteer at rebekahmetteer@gmail.com.
Car Chute Safety
Reminders:

  • At morning drop-off, when pulling into the car chute, please stay to the far right, hugging the red curb so that others can get by you on the left to fill in empty spaces for temperature checks.

  • Before leaving the line on the right, check to be certain no one is passing by you on the left. We've had some close calls and we want everyone to stay safe.

  • At afternoon pick-up, please wait your turn and avoid going around to fill in empty spaces. Please patiently wait your turn to move forward and pick up your child(ren).

Thank you for your cooperation. Having everyone's cooperation helps us keep our students, staff, and families safe.
Attendance
Regular attendance during the school year is vitally important. Attendance is much more than a logistical footnote in the official school log. It's a matter of not only receiving a high-caliber education but also contributing to the learning experience, which is done in community.

We believe education is not merely a process of information transfer. It is a formational experience that allows all involved to participate, contribute, and benefit.

Sometimes it's a formal lesson, other times a side conversation with a teacher. There are also accountability and relational dynamics that can only take place in-person. When these elements are combined, the student is part of a holistic and relational school experience that just can't be replicated in another format.

However, if your child will be absent, please email your child's teacher, cc: threepointsoffice@bellevuechristian.org and include the reason for the absence.

You may also call the front office at (425) 454-3977. If your child will miss 2 days or more in a row (due to something other than illness), we ask that you complete a Planned Absence Form two weeks prior to the absence. Thank you.

Portfolio Sharing

Our Preschool and Pre-K teachers are preparing for Portfolio Sharing on Wednesday, Mar. 3 and Thursday, Mar. 4. There is no regular preschool on those days. Instead, Portfolio Sharing days are an opportunity for individual families to come to school with their student for a brief time.

Students share their work and growth through their own portfolios. Families and teachers observe and empower each child in their classroom setting. We are looking forward to this important and fun time!

March 3 & 4 (Portfolio Sharing):
Mrs. Koorn’s Preschool class – No School
Mrs. Lowe’s Pre-K class – No School

March 5:
No School – Professional Day
