A message from our Missions Pastor

Hey Legacy Family,

I wanted to start off by saying thank you for welcoming me and my family through the transition to this position. You all have been so supportive and kind to Jonah, Josiah, Jessica, and me. I truly feel the love of Christ through your welcome, prayers, and well wishes!

I have to say the generosity and passion for missions of this church is amazing and I am more than excited to play a role in what the Lord has planned within missions here at Legacy. The things which you have been able to accomplish through your giving has helped support all of our partners locally and globally through the season of Covid. I partner with them and our Legacy Church staff to say, "thank you for being sensitive to the mission of Christ Jesus through your faithful giving!"

As you all continue in your faithfulness, I commit to you as your new Missions Pastor to provide updates as to what we have accomplished and what is to come through a Legacy Missions Newsletter. In this newsletter you will be able to celebrate the wins, find out where to get involved, and learn more about our mission spotlight.

My desire in this role is to see the love of Christ, which we operate in, extend within the City of Plano, and to our Global partners and beyond!

How do we get there?
  1. We get there through our prayers for the community we live in, all of our partners, and different countries. Through the trust we have in Christ Jesus, I am confident He will extend His hand to others’ needs.
  2. We continue our faithful giving.
  3. We continue to strengthen our relationships with our partners.
  4. We find out the needs within our community and see how the Lord will use us to meet those needs.
  5. We continue to find partners or projects in other countries to advance the Gospel message so others may receive Christ Jesus!

I am excited for this new season and I pray you are as well. I cannot wait to see how the Lord will use us as a church family when it comes to missions! Please, after you read this letter, if you could take just a moment and pray for our external focus as a church.

Thank you again!

Blessings,
Patrick Iga
Mission Spotlight
Operation Christmas Child Campaign
Oct 25th - Nov 15th
Each shoebox is an opportunity to reach a child with the Gospel, telling children and families around the world that God loves them.

Legacy Church will have Operation Christmas Child (OCC) shoeboxes available starting Sunday, October 18th.  Take as many as you can fill, then return them during the campaign, October 25th - November 15th. We will have shoeboxes available throughout the campaign, so feel free to come back for more! We will need all shoeboxes returned no later than November 15th.

If you are unable to go out and shop, consider building a box online. for only $25, which includes the $9 shipping donation. When you build a box online, OCC then packs it for easier passage through customs in hard-to-reach nations of the world.

This year we have a goal of 130 physical boxes and 30 online boxes. Check out our Lifegroup and Family Challenges on our Mission Spotlight website.
Prayer Initiatives

Each quarter we will highlight new countries in desperate need for prayer, as well as update the top three prayer requests for our mission partners. We ask that you join us in prayer for these countries and our mission partners.

Check out the new Prayer Initiatives website.
Impact Opportunities

There are many ways that you can serve the community, outside of financial giving. We are doing the research to help make it easy for families and for LifeGroups to find a place where you can make an impact.
