Giving Thanks

We certainly have much to be grateful for even in these challenging times. We are grateful for the return of the rain. Our hills are green and the trees are happier and we all still need to do our part to conserve water.  Covid is still a reality but we are thankful that in Marin the numbers are low enough that the indoor mask mandate was lifted. We are all doing our part to stop the spread and the results have been positive. We are grateful that new businesses have emerged downtown and our existing businesses are finding new ways to thrive. Let's make sure we shop local this holiday season. The rewards are ten fold for each of us and the businesses we are supporting. We are grateful that the Craft Faire is back and that we are merging the wreath making event with the Fairfax Volunteers. The second weekend in December promises to be full of holiday cheer.

As we give thanks for all we have, please also think of those who might need our support. If you have the means please consider volunteering or donating to the following organizations or any you feel inspired to support:

Please note that Town Hall will be closed November 24th and 25th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The Police Dispatch/lobby will be open 24/7 as usual.

Housing Element Update

Summary of November 20th Community Workshop
Staff and EMC Planning Group was happy to host a virtual workshop with 40 local community members last Saturday. Attendees learned about the sites inventory list and were able to play with the Plan Fairfax Housing tool as a group, as well as offer their questions and discuss issues. Video from that workshop will be posted on www.fairfaxspeaks.com soon, stay tuned!

Sites Inventory List is now available
As the process moves along, we'll be reviewing specific sites in town where future housing may be considered. Read more about how those sites were identified, provide your input on the list of 16 currently up for consideration and suggest you own sites at https://fairfaxspeaks.com/sites-surveys.

Plan Fairfax Housing tool
The Fairfax Speaks website has a new interactive mapping tool called Plan Fairfax Housing to help the community have input on the sites. You can see it here, after you've read up about the sites in the previous section.
