FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Orangetown Police Department

We are anticipating a substantial snow storm this evening. The Orangetown Highway Department will be out there plowing the roads. By parking cars off of the roadway you can help the plows do a better, safer job of plowing the roadways and prevent your vehicle from being plowed in with snow. The cleared roads also assist large emergency response vehicles like fire trucks and ambulances in getting through to provide services

Please remember the overnight parking restriction in the Town of Orangetown. The restriction bans overnight parking from 2:00am to 6:00am on all streets . Please assist us by parking your vehicles in your driveway or if you live in an apartment complex use your complex's parking lot. If you live in a multi-family home, or multiple tenant home and parking is limited, you will have to make your own parking accommodations as the Orangetown Police Department cannot give permission to violate the Town Code parking restrictions. Renters with limited parking may want to consider contacting their landlord in regards to off street parking solutions.

The town code regarding overnight parking restrictions is below.

§ 39-3

Prohibition of all-night parking.

A. No vehicle shall be parked on any public highway within the limits of the Town of Orangetown between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. prevailing eastern time during the period beginning November 15 and ending on April 15 of each and every year. The following named highways are excluded from the provisions of this local law:
