The 2022 Bach Festival starts this Sunday! Are you ready to Get your Bach On???

Get your Bach Passport stamped at each event you attend, and be eligible to win the

The Bach Passport is a fun way to track the events you attend, and also be eligible for the fabulous lush Bach Gift Baskets!

We have an adult basket and a kid basket for kids 12 and under...

Eligibility:

Adults: attend 4 or more events 

Kids: Attend 2 or more events

Turn in your passports at the October 2 Bach Celebration Concert to be entered into the drawing which will be done at that concert, at Danes Hall!

Sunday, September 25: Kick off the 2022 Waupaca Bach Festival with a Concert by the Bach Chamber Orchestra, featuring Conductor Dr. Andres Moran, and Soloists Susan Bender, Vocalist; and Anna Cromwell and Graham Emberton, violins.

Concert is at 6:30 PM at St. Mary Magdalenes' Church. 


Dessert and Wine reception following the concert, food presented by 13 Chairs of Amherst.


Sunday, October 2: The final Bach Festival event, the Bach Celebration Concert featuring pianist Nell Buchman playing JS Bach's Goldberg Variations. This special concert will feature dancers Pamela Luedtke and Jeannie Hill, who have choreographed this ambitious work!

Concert is at 6:30 PM at Waupaca Danes Hall.


Desserts and Wine reception following the concert, food prepared by 3 Angels Dessert Shop of Waupaca, commemorative featuring artisan painted dessert glasses that attendees can take home! 


This year, enjoy an early Dinner before both of these concerts!

Thursday, September 29:  Listen to the talent Waupaca has to offer at the Community Bach Concert!  piano, organ, violin, flute, voice and Tuba!  There is a lot of talent in our community, come and listen!

Concert is at 6:30 at Trinity Lutheran Church

Friday, September 30:  Classical Guitarist Rachel Neece will play the music of JS Bach at this Bach in the Brewery event!  Don't miss this amazing concert, in a wonderful Brewery setting!

Concert is at 7:00 PM at the Central Waters Brewery in Amherst

Monday, September 26:  Winchester Academy presents a special lecture:  Bach's Puzzles:  "Hidden Patterns in the Goldberg Variations" with UWSP's Stacey Berke  and Lawrence University Community Music School's Nell Buchman.  This program is sponsored by Vic and Chris Anthony, and is an excellent prelude to the Final Goldberg Variations Concert on Sunday, October 2!

Tuesday, September 27:  Area music students gather at Waupaca Danes Hall for Bach Fun Night! Many students play their prepared Bach pieces, a Special Guest will give us some fun facts about the life of JS Bach, we will draw to the music of Bach, and then...a cupcake bar!

Wednesday, September 28: Baroque Market Basket Weaving Class will take place at the Waupaca Historical Society Holly Center.  This class is sold out!

Class starts at 5:00 PM at the Waupaca Holly Center

Thursday, September 29 and Friday September 30:  Make a beautiful custom pendant-style necklace or key chain using cut outs from Bach sheet music!  Register HERE for this class.

Class is on Thursday or Friday at 1PM at A Touch of Glass Country location.

The Waupaca Bach Festival is funded by a generous grant from the Waupaca Area Community Foundation Fund within the Waupaca Area Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of the Fox Valley Region.  

Friday, September 30:  The Bach Storybook Trail will be once again happening for school age kids at both the Waupaca Learning Center and the Chain Exploration Center.  WCAB volunteers read a book to the kids about the life and times of JS Bach, interspersed with live musicians playing the music of Bach on piano, viola and guitar!  A unique fun experience for kids to learn about this great composer and have the opportunity to interact with live musicians!  ***For school age kids only, this is not open to the public.  

Other fun tidbits during the Bach Festival:

  • Receive your own Artisan-painted glass (filled with delicious Mousse!) as a Bach Festival souvenir at the final Bach Celebration concert reception!  This is WCAB's gift to those who attend this special and final performance of Bach Fest 2022!
  • The City of Waupaca will be broadcasting a wonderful Bach playlist downtown on the public speakers throughout the week!
  • There will be a special presentation of the Goldberg Bach Celebration Concert for the residents and staff at Bethany Home on Tuesday, September 27.
