St. Louis Catholic School Newsletter

September 22, 2022

Dear St. Louis Families,

Today is the feast of St. Thomas of Villanova, known as the almsgiver and father of the poor, and tomorrow is the feast of St. Padre Pio---who happens to be one of my favorite saints. St. Padre Pio devoted most of his priesthood to hearing confessions and giving hope and encouragement to people from all over the world. Our saintly examples provide tangible ways for us to deepen our faith and build our relationship with God. Every Thursday we celebrate a saint and many Mondays throughout the school year we discuss saints who embody our monthly virtues.

National Hispanic Heritage Month began on September 15th and lasts through October 15th. Students will be looking more closely at the contributions of famous Latinos/Latinas in art, religion, English/language arts, Spanish class, science, and social studies.

NWEA and HMH assessments continue into next week. Students will be completing their math assessments to establish a baseline for us to improve instruction. Staff participated in a great 90-minute webinar on how to use IXL to enhance, support, and remediate language arts and math instruction this week as well.

This week we have been working hard to create an environment of Hope--- where Hope Lives, Joy grows #BeJoyfulinHope.

Enjoy your weekend!

God Bless,

Anne Dyke

Principal
