The Library Foundation is hosting a donation drive in partnership with HP Inc. and the San José Public Library to refresh and repurpose used laptops and other devices. And you're invited!

Your donations will give more students, families, and Library program participants access to the technology they need to thrive in an increasingly online world.
The donation drive officially kicked off on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1, and we're excited to report that 73 devices have already been collected, including one mailed in from Santa Rosa!

If you have a used laptop you'd like to donate, and you live in San José, you don't need to mail it. Just visit any of SJPL's 24 Express Pickup locations Monday to Saturday between now and January 9, 2021. Make sure to bring power cables and other accessories! (Your donations are tax-deductible.)

Thank you in advance for helping us bridge the digital divide in our community.
Save the date for a special dedication!
Please join us for a virtual ceremony this Saturday, December 19 at 2pm PT to dedicate a new sculpture at the Almaden Branch Library in honor of late San José Vice Mayor and civic advocate Pat Dando. This striking work of art was funded by the Pat Dando Legacy project, which has created a generous endowment in Pat's name. Save the date for the ceremony, and stay tuned for more!
There is still time to give...
Thank you to everyone who took a moment to support the Library Foundation on #GivingTuesday! Still want to make an impact? You can give to SJPLF through the end of the year to help us start 2021 strong.

A few reminders: Mailed donations must be postmarked by Dec. 31 to be included in your 2020 tax returns. For stock donations, please initiate the transaction by Dec. 23. And if you don't itemize your returns, the CARES Act is giving everyone a one-time $300 write-off for charitable donations!
