Instant Decision Day

Take the steps to enroll for the Fall Semester all in one day at an Instant Decision Day, August 18, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., in RVCC’s Event Center. In one session you will have the opportunity to:
  • Speak with an admissions specialist and learn about the steps to enroll
  • Explore financial aid options including loans, grants, scholarships, and the Free Tuition Program
  • Submit admissions documentation
  • Meet with an Academic Advisor
  • Complete the New Student Registration Request Form, if you’re a first-time college student

Information Sessions

RVCC is holding Information Sessions and other events in August and September, including special sessions focusing on the College’s Auto Tech and Beauty programs and a session called “I’ve Applied, What’s Next.”

Registration is suggested for all Admissions events.
Foundation Golf Classic

The RVCC Foundation raised over $127,000 at the 18th Annual RVCC Foundation Golf Classic, held at the Copper Hill Country Club in Ringoes.
Book Grant

Lisa Michelle Tucker, Professor of English, has received a Special Projects Grant from the Hunterdon County Cultural and Heritage Commission for her upcoming children’s picture book, Chessie Dentley Educates Mr. Ashbee.
Artist-in-Residence

Dr. John Sichel, a composer and Professor of Music, has been named Artist-in-Residence at Capulin Volcano National Monument in New Mexico.
Applied Music Courses, Dance Ensemble

Area high school music students are invited to enroll in RVCC’s Applied Music courses and receive college credit for private lessons on their instruments. In addition, high school students and community members are invited to participate in the Raritan Valley Dance Ensemble.
Student Murals

A team of six students from the Arts & Design department recently participated in the creation of three large murals for Signify at its North American headquarters in Bridgewater.
3D-Printed Pinocchio Nose

When theatergoers attended recent performances of the Spotlight Players' production of Shrek The Musical at the First Presbyterian Church of Matawan, they didn’t realize that Pinocchio’s nose was created by the actress portraying the role: RVCC Mechanical Engineering student Jimena Torres, who used 3D Design software and 3D printing to fabricate the “nose” elements and the mask to which the nose connects.
Composting & Recycling Video

Digital Media students Jenna Michell and Olivia Jara, led by Arts & Design faculty member Lydia Barnes, have created a video about the correct use of the composting and recycling bins around campus. The two-minute video, “Put Your Waste in the Right Place at RVCC,” was part of a larger, campus-wide project spearheaded by Susan Dorward, RVCC Sustainability & Energy Coordinator.
Planetarium

The RVCC Planetarium is offering a variety of star shows and laser concerts in August.
