NAAMSCU & University Senate

2023 Joint Meeting

Today, Saint Mark UMC has the high honor of hosting the Opening Worship service for the 2023 North American Association of Methodist Schools, Colleges, and Universities (NAAMSCU) & University Senate Joint meeting. 

In addition to welcoming members of the University Senate and NAAMSCU; we will also welcome Bishop Thomas Bickerton of the New York Episcopal Area (Northeastern Jurisdiction); Bishop Tracy Smith Malone of the Ohio East Episcopal Area (North Central Jurisdiction); Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey of the Houston Episcopal Area (South Central Jurisdiction); our own North Georgia Bishop Robin Dease (Southeastern Jurisdiction), General Board of Higher Education and Ministry (GBHEM) General Secretary Greg Bergquist; Assistant Vice President of Education and Innovation Tamara “Tammy” Gieselman; and members of the GBHEM staff.

Greeters Needed

Being greeted when you enter a place indicates that you are welcomed and valued. We wouldn’t think of allowing guests to enter our homes without a warm welcome. Why should our church, our beloved Saint Mark home, be any different?

New Member Class

The next new membership class will be via Zoom and will start on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 6:30 PM. The class will run for 4 weeks. New Member Sunday will be Sunday, August 6, 2023.

Parking Deck Systems are now active

The parking deck systems are now active. If you did not submit your vehicle information to the church, the window to do so via the online form is now closed. Please follow the parking validation signs throughout the church when visiting.

If you submitted your vehicle information during the submission window, your vehicle information has been recorded and you have full access to the parking deck. You do NOT need to validate your parking each time you visit the church or midtown area.

Summer Choir

Summer at Saint Mark is a great time to give the choir a try. There are no mid-week rehearsals to attend, no robes to wear and no commitment!

Come join the Summer Singers at Saint Mark for the month of July! On July 2^nd there is only one service at 10:00 so we will meet in the choir room (education building, 3^rd floor) at 9:30. NO CHOIR on the 9^th. Normal 10:30 rehearsal for the 11:00 service on July 16^th, 23^rd, and 30^th. Hope to see you there!

Churchwide Fellowship Gathering

A big thank you to Larry Lucas, who sponsored today's lunch for the Churchwide Fellowship Gathering event following the 11 am service. Larry is a long-time member and friend of Saint Mark, who now resides in Florida. We also celebrated Larry's birthday and were pleased to be joined by many of Larry's friends for a reunion get-together. We praise God for this beautiful opportunity to join one another in fellowship.
