January 8                     Professional Development - No School
Second Semester

As was previously communicated on November 20, the district is remaining in the remote learning phase through the end of the first semester on January 7, 2021. In addition, we communicated our plan to return students to in person learning beginning with the second semester on January 11, 2021 if conditions in our county and region allow for it. As we prepare for the second semester, we wanted to communicate some additional information with you.

If you indicated a change to your student's learning model (at home remote learning to traditional in-person learning or traditional in-person learning to at home remote learning), team assignment changes will be made over winter break and become effective on Monday, January 11, 2021 regardless of the learning phase the district is in at that time. These changes will be made only for those families who indicated within the last month that they wanted a different learning plan for their student. If you did not indicate a change to your child's learning phase, there is nothing that needs to be changed and your child will stay in that phase for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.

If applicable to your family, notifications of your student's new team assignment will be sent after winter break. Teachers will be following up with students by Friday, January 8, 2021 regarding new class schedules.

Important Notes:

December 21 & January 4
On Monday, December 21, and Monday January 4, NRMS will follow the remote learning schedule.  Please note that Monday, December 21 and January 4 are synchronous days, which means students will be live with their teachers.  On these additional synchronous days, students and staff will follow the Tuesday through Friday remote learning schedule as far as core classes (ELA, math, science & social studies), and follow Monday's schedule for exploratory classes (7th and 8th grade students are the only students who have exploratory classes scheduled on Mondays).  The Remote Learning Team will communicate with their students and families to make sure everyone is prepared for December 21 and January 4.
