Time Change March 14

Don't forget that Daylight savings time returns this weekend early on Sunday, March 14!

Celebrating Girl Scout Sunday
On March 12, 1912, Juliette Gordon Low held the first Girl Scout meeting in the United States. Girl Scout Sunday, celebrated on the second Sunday in March, marks this anniversary. Please join us in worship this Sunday for a special video message from the Girl Scouts Troops of First Presbyterian Church.

The Girl Scouts look forward to hosting their traditional cookies and lemonade reception for the congregation next year. This year, they will host a drive-up cookie booth in front of the sanctuary from noon until 2 p.m. this Sunday, March 14th. Please drop by the church to stock up on your favorites before the season ends!

Spiritual Nurture - A Pilgrimage to Sacred Places
It was wonderful to spend Sunday afternoon with so many of you, as we enjoyed the Spring Spiritual Nurture event via Zoom. Elizabeth Richardson presented a lovely program, sharing a few of her childhood memories of First Presbyterian Church before taking us along, with vivid descriptions and vignettes, on her personal pilgrimages in New Mexico, Scotland, and Spain. She offered wonderful resources on centering prayer practices and other ways to draw closer to God.

A special thank you to Rev. Rush Otey and Jane Spainhour for their opening and closing prayers. Please join me in expressing our gratitude to Linda Barnett, Nancy Rotan, and Linda Wightman, for creating and executing this enriching opportunity. Fifty of us attended the Zoom program, including guests extending beyond our First Presbyterian family. If you missed the program and would enjoy a link to view the presentation, please let René Prager know (thepragers@yahoo.com).

Congregational Meeting
There will be a Zoom Congregational Meeting on Sunday, March 21, at noon, for the purpose of voting on the 2024 Class of Officers who have been selected by the Congregational Nominating Committee.
Book of Job Zoom Discussion
There will be a Zoom meeting to discuss the Book of Job on Sunday, March 28 at 7 p.m. An invitation to the Zoom meeting will be sent to the Congregation so anyone who wishes may attend. This will be the only live opportunity to discuss this book, not two as originally thought. Thank you.
FPC Youth Sponsors the Blessing Box during Mission Weekend
Our Youth Mission weekend was packed with amazing mission experiences! This week, we would like to highlight the FPC Blessing Box mission. Thanks to generous donations from our Youth families and our entire congregation, we were able to collect a great assortment of practical supplies to assist in restocking the Blessing Box. The Youth will continue to restock the Blessing Box throughout the month of March.

If your Youth would like to take part in the restocking effort, please e-mail René Prager at r.prager@firstpresconcord.org for the sign-up link. All youth are invited to participate, regardless of whether or not you were able to attend the mission weekend event.

Congregation members are also invited to continue to participate in this on-going church mission. All are welcome to place items into the Blessing Box. Donations may also be left in the designated area in the Fellowship House foyer during office hours. If any groups within the congregation wish to sign-up to be caretakers of the box for a month, you can connect with Kate Morrison (kmorrison78@gmail.com) for a link to the sign-up. The months of August and December are currently open.

Photo highlights: A few of our high school Youth holding Thank You signs in appreciation of all who participated in our drive-up collection event on Saturday, February 27th. Our congregation members provided a steady stream of donations. The Youth visited the Blessing Box and assisted in restocking it during our event.
