SFD Scholarships - Deadline: March 15 (next Monday!)

Below are links to the scholarship applications available to current freshmen, sophomores and juniors. Deadline is March 15, 2021.




To be considered for a scholarship, students must also have their 2021-22 Registration Form completed (see details below), and have a completed online recommendation from a non-family member submitted. The recommendation form can be found at https://www.sfdstallions.org/sfdscholarships.
2021-22 Registration Form - Deadline: March 15 (next Monday!)

A Registration Form must be completed for each student attending SFDHS next school year by March 15th. A MySFD Account has been created for you to complete your 2021-22 Registration.

You will be prompted to login using the information that was sent to you in a personalized email from the Enrollment Office. Once logged in, you will see a yellow banner that indicates a personal checklist of items needed to complete the Registration.

Please note, if you have multiple students attending DeSales, a Registration will need to be completed for each student.

Morning Traffic Reminder

A friendly reminder that parents cannot use the front drive in the morning, even when arriving late. Please follow the traffic pattern all the way around the building.
Stallions in the Spotlight
Congratulations to senior Monserrat Tlahuel-Flores who was named State Champion of Ohio’s 16th annual Poetry Out Loud (POL) State Finals competition. The competition was held virtually on Friday, March 5. Monserrat, who is the school's first POL State Champion, will compete virtually in the National Finals in May, competing for a $20,000 cash prize.
Freshman Kate Acklin was awarded a $375 Franklin County 4-H Trip Award Scholarship to attend Camp Canopy. The scholarship is sponsored by the Franklin County 4-H Council and the camp is sponsored by the Ohio Forestry Association. It is a week-long summer camp to learn about forestry and wildlife conservation. 
Congratulations to Lily Carlos who was recognized as a March Student of the Month by the Westerville Rotary Club for her commitment to service.
Construction Technology teacher Mrs. Kim Gattis has been chosen as one of 15 finalists in the 2021 Teachers of the Year awards. This annual awards program from Columbus Parent magazine and ThisWeek Community News honors outstanding Central Ohio educators. Vote here to help Mrs. Gattis receive the top award for high school Teacher of the Year! Voting ends March 24.
Winter Teams in Postseason Play

Congratulations to our boys basketball team for winning the District championship on Saturday over Jonathan Alder and advancing to Regionals, which will be played this Thursday.

Congratulations to wrestlers Owen Eagan (3rd) and Max Shulaw (2nd) for advancing to the State wrestling meet next weekend. Shoutout to Zach Lopez and Aidan Rush for finishing 6th in the District tournament.
A Few Days Remaining!

Thank you to all of our generous supporters who have helped raise over $36,000 for our co-curricular programs! The WishBook will be coming to an end this weekend on Sunday, March 14th. There's still time to donate to your Stallion's favorite program or provide the program with a specific need. If you haven't yet had the chance, please take a moment and look through The Stallion WishBook. Your support will have a significant impact on the programs that are invaluable to our students. Every dollar counts, help us reach our goal of $50,000!

Celebration of Women's History Month

St. Francis DeSales High School and the Office of Diversity and Student Equity are committed to honoring the immense societal contributions of women from all walks of life. We will be hosting a virtual webinar on March 30th at 6pm to culminate our school's celebration of Women's History Month. Topics covered will include celebration of professional accomplishments, overcoming obstacles to success and empowering women of all professions. College Success Summit 2021

High school seniors are encouraged to attend the College Success Summit, supported by the Diocesan Office of Catholic Schools and the six Franklin County Catholic High Schools. The Summit takes place on Saturday, April 17, 2021, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Robert C. Walter Student Commons on the campus of St. Charles Preparatory School. In accordance with health and safety regulations, attendance is limited to 280 seniors. To register (required), click HERE.

COVID-19 Travel Advisory
States with a 15% or higher positivity rate, require a 10-day quarantine period before returning to school. A 10-day quarantine is required for all international travel as well. Please notify the School Nurse with any travel requiring quarantine.

Keep your child home if they present with any of the symptoms listed below and contact the School Nurse, Kelli Fitzpatrick at (614) 267-7808 ext. 435 or email fitzpatrick@desales.co.

  • Fever (100.4°F or higher)
  • New or worsened cough
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Nasal congestion or runny nose

If a household member is being tested for COVID-19, students and siblings must stay home until results are received.

We are receiving inquiries about the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine recently approved in the United States. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops issued a statement to address the moral questions related to the vaccine. A link to the statement is below with additional resources.



Vaccines developed by Moderna and Pfizer to combat COVID-19 may be taken without moral reservations.
