Today we begin the season of Lent; a time for renewing faith, hope and love through our practice of prayer, fasting and giving.

Congratulations!
Congratulations to William Mix, who placed 11th out 36 spellers at the Virtual Regional Bee last Thursday, February 11th! A special shout out and congratulations to Karime Chain for qualifying for the Badger State Spelling Bee. Karime tied for 4th place with another speller and both are allowed to compete in the Badger State Bee on March 20th! Well done Karime and William! We are so proud of you!
Fox Valley Saints Football
Registration for Fall 2021 Fox Valley Saints football is now open! Register today for an early bird special - 35% off of your registration fee! Early bird registration ends on February 28th so sign up now! Late registration begins May 23rd. The Saints will be joining the Great Lakes Independent Football Conference (GLIFC). Teams include Appleton Public Schools, Hortonville, and teams from Green Bay, Fond Du Lac, Sheboygan, Manitowoc and Marinette. One last Cookies for a Cause reminder: the deadline is end of day on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. If you would still like to support specific staff requests, click here to see what items are still available from “Cookies for a Cause”—this is a list of specific staff “causes” that donors can satisfy. It is a great way to support a specific teacher or area of interest. Simply contact your campus office to make the associated donation to satisfy a specific item request; these are satisfied on a first-come, first-served basis.

Boys & Girls Club
The Boys and Girls Club of Kaleidoscope Academy located at 318 E. Brewster Street serves youth in grades 6-8 before school from 6:45 am to 7:43 am and after school from 3:20 pm to 6:00 pm. This club is open to all 6th-8th grade students who attend schools in the area. Fox Cities Chamber's Excellence in Education Shining Star Awards: Nominations
Our Xavier educators have always worked hard and deserved our appreciation, but these truths have never been more evident than they are today as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fox Cities Chamber is sponsoring the second annual Excellence in Education Shining Star Awards. Please consider nominating a Xavier educator in one of the following categories:
  • Excellence in Early Childhood Education
  • Excellence in K-12 Education
  • Inclusive Excellence in Education
  • Excellence in Special Education
  • Excellence in Student Services  
  • Heroes in COVID-19
  • Educator of the Year

Attendance Guidelines
We are following the guidelines provided to us by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services in order to keep our schools healthy and open for as long as possible.

Students will be sent home and must remain home if:
  • They have a fever (temperature 100 or above) and/or have taken any medications (for example, ibuprofen, Tylenol) to reduce fever in the last 24 hours.
  • Within the last two weeks, they have come in close contact with anyone who has СOVID-19.
  • They have not yet finished their quarantine/isolation period.
 
OR within the last 24 hours:
  • They have experienced any ONE (or more) of the following symptoms above their baseline:
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Difficulty breathing
  • New loss of smell or taste
 
  • OR at least TWO of the following symptoms:
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Fatigue
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Students MUST remain home until they are symptom free for 24 hours without the help of any medication. Children with fever, diarrhea, or vomiting should remain home until they are symptom free for 24 hours, even if it is unrelated to COVID-19.

As a reminder, if you are awaiting test results for a household member, please keep all students home until you receive the test results.
