This Patriot’s Day take the time to complete a small act of service or kindness and remember those who lost their lives on this day in 2001.
This four day week, though short, was filled with rigorous classroom instruction, the continuation of F.A.S.T. testing make ups and multiple 30/30s. Thank you to all our Jet families for being flexible during dismissal for the safety of our students.
This week our soccer game was again canceled due to the inclement weather. Next week we have two home games scheduled for the 12th against Discovery and the 14th against Avalon. I encourage you to please come out to our soccer field and support our girls and boys teams. Next week will start Hispanic Heritage Month and we have many fun activities planned throughout the month in recognition of.
Lastly, on Friday, September 16th we will be holding our first Skate Night of the school year. These nights are always fun and it’s great seeing all our Jets at Astro Skate having such a great time together. Please mark your calendars, I hope to see you there.
This Sunday is also Grandparents Day so I want to leave you with a Happy Grandparents Day to all our Jet Grandparents!

Tuesday, September 13
Legacy Middle School is seeking parents, grandparents, guardians, and community members for our School Advisory Council (SAC).
|
The SAC plays a critical role in preparing and evaluating the School Improvement Plan (SIP). Through monthly reviews of this plan, the SAC gets an inside look at the curriculum, budget, and other important school strategies and initiatives.
Legacy Middle School SAC meetings take place on the second Tuesday of each month (unless otherwise announced) at 5:30 p.m. in the school media center. Our first scheduled meeting will be on Tuesday, September 13th. Please note that by becoming a SAC member, you are making a commitment to attend scheduled meetings.
All SAC meetings are subject to Florida’s Government in the Sunshine Law and are open to the public. Parents, students, teachers, staff, and community members are all welcome to join us anytime.

The OCPS Chess Team is kicking off the year with a ChessKid's Back to School Blitz Contest. Students that play 100 Fast Chess games on their OCPS ChessKid account during the month of September have a chance to win prizes from the OCPS Chess Team. The contest began on September 1, 2022 and ends at midnight on September 30, 2022. Students can access their OCPS ChessKid account via Launch. The app is in the OCPS Apps folder. All OCPS students are welcome to participate! |

This week students received their student IDs. Students need to wear their ID as a part of their dress code. We are in need of donations for lanyards for students to wear their IDs with. Below are two different links.

Our second soccer game of the season against Corner Lake Middle School was rained out and will be rescheduled. Our next game is this week on 9/12. It is a home game against Discovery Middle School. Our teams will also play on Wednesday another home game against Avalon Middle School. Please come out and support our boys and girls soccer teams. The updated soccer game schedule is below. |
