Sketch of Cherry Hall charted new course for student's journey & WKU experience
|
Cherry Hall has a special place in the hearts of many. For WKU senior Daniel Garcia Lopez, a sketch of the historic building charted the course of his academic journey and WKU experience.
Both of Garcia Lopez’s parents are engineers and without hesitation, he decided to declare a major in mechanical engineering. A quick sketch of Cherry Hall drawn between classes was all his mom needed to know that her son’s career would look a lot different from her own. After seeing the artistic talent of her son, she encouraged him to pursue a career in graphic design.
Garcia Lopez decided to reboot his academic journey in graphic design and advertising. He currently interns at WKU Imagewest as a Senior Multimedia Creative, where he uses his talents to design multimedia content across multiple platforms, including digital print and user experience (UX).
Upon graduation, Garcia Lopez plans to find a job at an advertising agency and then begin freelance work, with the goal to one day run his own graphic design and advertising agency.
