JANUARY 2022
The Mitcham Library Service is continuing to operate due to COVID-19 in a safe manner including masks, QR codes and hand sanitiser. We monitor and review the situation and provide updates on our social media channels and website.
Holiday opening hours
The Mitcham Memorial Library will be open on:
 
Wednesday 29 December: 10 am - 8 pm
Thursday 30 December: 10 am - 5:30 pm
Friday 31 December: 10 am - 2 pm
 
Both Mitcham Memorial Library and the Blackwood Library will be closed on all other days until Tuesday 4 January.
Normal operating hours from Tuesday 4 January.
Library items can be returned via the after-hours chutes. When full the chute will automatically close off. Please do not leave items if the chutes are closed.

Pirate Play and Craft

Join our crew for an hour of interactive Pirate Play aboard the Leaky Sea Dragon.
Make and sharpen a sword, learn some pirate lingo & actions, and batten down the hatches to save our treasure from being washed overboard. Join us for craft, colouring, and an interactive mini pirate play! Heave ho and book your spot.

Lego® STEM Create and code workshop

Join us for a fun and interactive LEGO coding session with Ben from Learn With Bricks. During this one-hour session you will build your own LEGO creation then use a tablet to code, control and bring it to life! No experience is necessary.

Recommended for kids aged 7-12 years old.

Home Library Service
Do you know someone who is unable to visit the library?

This service provides material to housebound people who cannot visit the library due to ill health, frailty or disability.

Supported by our team of wonderful volunteers, we deliver personally selected library material to people in their homes.

This is a free service for eligible residents.

Adelaide Writers' Week 2022
5 March to 10 March
Mitcham Memorial Library will once again be streaming Adelaide Writers' Week in March 2022.

Printed programs will be available from the libraries at the end of January. A preliminary line-up of speakers can be found here.
Storytime and Babytime in 2022
Storytime will be returning on Monday 31 January at Mitcham Memorial Library.

LITTLE BANG DISCOVERY CLUB

Do you have a curiosity for science? Do you find yourself asking ‘what would happen if...?’ From musical coat hangers to kissing balloons, join in on a variety of fun, interactive table top experiments to excite your senses and embrace your inner scientist.

Little Bang Discovery Club is designed for pre-school and early primary aged children and their families. This hands-on program will allow children and their accompanying parents to combine everyday objects and experiences with genuine scientific enquiry methods. 

Please note when booking it includes attendance to all 4 weeks.

Blackwood Library during the bushfire season
The Blackwood Library will close when an EXTREME or CATASTROPHIC fire warning is declared for the Mount Lofty Ranges District.
