Dear Daves Avenue Families,
As a school community, we have so much in common and helping to foster a safe and respectful environment is paramount. We care about the well-being of our friends and neighbors and work to maintain a caring and peaceful environment, in spite of our beautiful differences. Building a community of learners and contributors extends beyond the physical campus of Daves Avenue. Beginning next week, all Cool Cats have an opportunity to donate specific items that will be used to assemble hygiene kits for those less fortunate in our community.

|
Thank you in advance for your consideration and for supporting this district-wide community service project. This is a perfect opportunity for families to have conversations about empathy, compassion, and kindness.
Spring has brought beautiful weather and an increase of students who have been tardy to school. When a student arrives late to campus, they are at a disadvantage of maximizing instructional minutes and learning. Furthermore, transitioning into a classroom late causes students a wide-range of social and emotional obstacles that can be easily avoided. Please have a family pow-pow…what can you each do as a team to help be on time to school? Your time and energy in having a simple conversation will pay dividends in your child’s wellness and academic performance. Attendance matters!
Wishing you a PAWSitively awesome week!

WINE BOTTLES & GIFT CARDS NEEDED!
Looking for a super easy way to help raise funds for our kids? Can’t make it to the Tropic Nights school auction on April 30th? You can still help!!!! Consider donating a nice bottle of wine to the auction’s wine pull (should be a $30+ bottle that you would give as a gift). Not a wine collector? That is okay!! We are also in need of small value gift cards ($25-$60) to give as prizes during the auction’s shot pull.

The Home & School Club would really love to bring back our annual end-of-year Carnival and Talent Show this year, but we need your help! We are seeking a Chair (or grab a friend and Co-Chair) to lead a committee that will coordinate food, games, and entertainment. The Carnival will take place at the end of May. It is usually our last big event of the school year and the kids love it! If you would like more information or are interested in this fun opportunity, please contact H&SC Co-VP Melissa Barragan.
