Market Update

Below is the most recent statistics from REColorado for the Denver metro area. As we've been saying, there are fewer homes on the market than last year, and those that are listed, are selling faster at higher prices. I was also notified this week that interest rates went up just slightly but this really shouldn't cause much of a slow down in the housing market. Kid-Friendly Spaces
While many of you are still working remotely, they are finding that it may be necessary to make some changes to your current home or look for another one. According to an article in Realtor magazine, there are three main things people are doing to adjust:

  • Many buyers prefer move-in ready homes houses that don’t need time-consuming, complex remodeling.
  • Some are creating zones within rooms that can adapt to different needs, such as sleep, play, and study.
  • Homeowners are also selecting child-proof furnishings that hold up to wear and tear.

This past week I spoke with Rebecca Richardson from Foundations, IFS. She has been an insurance broker since 1996, for the first 15 years with a captive carriers and since 2011, has had an independent agency, Foundations Insurance & Financial Services. Being an independent broker, she has access to many insurers which allows her to generate and compare quotes from several companies. She can also insure risks that others won't and package insurance products together to get a multiple policy discount.
