After 27 years as a parish minister, Rev. Tricia is about to retire. Come hear her reflections about the gifts and lessons of congregational ministry, and what these last four years have taught us all.
Join us for worship in person in the Sanctuary, or online. The livestream link and order of service will be shared at bit.ly/FUUSBWorship, or visit our YouTube channel.
Following the service, please join us for the Celebration for Rev. Tricia at 11:15 in the Sanctuary and online at this livestream link, and the FUUSB Picnic at 12:30 (details below)!
While at the Meeting House, anyone is welcome to wear a mask. In the spirit of caring for each other, please stay home if you have any cold or flu symptoms. Thank you.
This Sunday with Children & Youth
Erika Reif, Director of Lifespan Faith Development
We hope that many of you will choose to be here for Rev. Tricia’s final Sunday in the pulpit as our senior minister! For children, this will be their last chance to hear her do a Reflection for All Ages, after which they will be invited to leave the Sanctuary with Faith Development staff and volunteers to work on a special project. As the adults are transitioning from worship to goodbye celebration, the kids will remain with staff, have a hearty snack and hopefully have time for some outdoor games before returning to the Sanctuary for the final 10 minutes of the festivities. We’ll have lawn games and face paints out during the picnic, and it should be fun for the whole family. Youth are invited to stay and take part in the farewell ceremony or come help the younger kids with the project, as they prefer.
Celebrate Rev. Tricia This Sunday, June 11!
Jonathan Sands, Transition Team
Reverend Tricia Hart came to us in the Fall of 2019, before the pandemic, and very successfully led us through a challenging four-year transition period. This Sunday, June 11 at 10 a.m. will be her last time leading worship as our Developmental Senior Minister. So at 11:15 that day, we will joyfully celebrate her ministry career with a special event in the Sanctuary, followed by a picnic lunch at 12:30 on the lawn, or in the Community Room in case of inclement weather. Additional folding chairs will be welcome outside, and you may like to bring a water bottle with you to have during the indoor events.
To join us online for the 11:15 Celebration for Rev. Tricia, here is the livestream link: https://bit.ly/3Nl8UH6.
Thanks to those who have signed up to provide food or help at the picnic. Labeling your cooler with your name may be helpful. Food contributions can be delivered to the Parlors before the service.
Children attending the 10 a.m. service will leave after the Reflection for All Ages, as on a typical classroom Sunday. They will enjoy fun supervised activities until they return to the Sanctuary towards the end of the celebration (so their activities last roughly 10:20-12:20). They will enjoy a substantial snack to hold them over until the congregational picnic.
Consider parking off-site this Sunday, as a form of hospitality to special guests from out of town.

Hope Baker-Carr, Board President
It's not over when Sunday’s party is over. There is essential business still to be conducted this Spring. We need members to attend this brief but very important meeting. Please tune in!
Erika Reif, Director of Lifespan Faith Development
Friday, June 16 - Sunday, June 18 at Elmore State Park
While you may have seen that our sign-up list was full earlier in the spring, we have had a couple groups cancel, leaving us with openings! Our current group includes families with children of all ages, older adults, groups of young adults, youth, etc. So this is a weekend for anyone in the congregation that likes to sleep in a tent! We also welcome everyone, whether staying over or not, to visit us for Friday night’s potluck dinner, starting at 6:30. (Last year’s featured a rainbow, but we can’t promise a repeat!) Please contact Erika ([email protected]) for a campsite or to let us know you’ll be attending the campout potluck.
Richard Kemp Center Revitalization Fundraiser
Zoe Hart & FUUSB Racial Justice Team
Please support the Richard Kemp Center in their work to continue to fit our their physical space and expand programs and services that support Black Vermonters’ wellness, preserve their culture, support their youth and advance racial equity and justice. They need to reach their goal of $10,300 by July 7 to qualify for a double match of $20,600 from Vermont Better Spaces program. We can help them to the finish line by giving what we can at patronicity.com/project/richard_kemp_center_revitalization#! and spreading the word through our own networks. Thank you to everyone who has given already!
