News for the State Fashion Revue Committee

Hooray! State Fashion Revue is returning in May 2021 as a virtual event! Members will still need to qualify as County Winners at their County Fashion Revues, but do not need to sew or assemble their outfits as part of the sewing project. The five categories from 2020 are held over for 2021. If your county only has a few members interested in fashion revue, consider joining a neighboring county for a joint event. If your county has a well-organized event, consider inviting a nearby county to join you. We are all learning how to conduct virtual events, so contact us if we can help you.

2021 SFR Service Projects: We had requests to repeat the Port Pillow project, so check out the flyer on the SFR webpage. They’re easy to sew and can be made out of small pieces of fabric. Donate them locally in your own county and let us know how many were made. Cancer patients with ports for chemotherapy really appreciate them! Of course, we hope all 4-H sewers are still making masks for yourselves, your families, and friends. The newest guidelines say they should be at least 2 layers and they help protect the wearer and others.

The 2021 Youth Animal Science Drive-Thru is an educational event for youth (and their adult leaders, teachers, and mentors) who raise, care, breed, show, or are interested in learning more about livestock animal production in the areas of (1) beef cattle, (2) dairy cattle, (3) small ruminants (sheep and goats), (4) swine, and (5) poultry.

Invited Participants: Youth (any age) and adults from youth organizations who provide animal science education, including 4-H, FFA, and Grange.

Event Layout
  • Drive-thru stations: the concourse will be lined with stations; each station will have presenters who share information/provide demonstrations on a topic
  • Each agriculture track is species specific and will have their own set of stations and individual time slot
  • Multiple presenters per station will allow for a steady flow of vehicles through the various interactive stations

Registration opening in January 2021.
