TIME TO FLY
Last night, there was great news, and there was even better news. The great news? Sarah Palin lost her special congressional election in Alaska! That alone is worth a party.

The even better news is who won it: Mary Peltola, a Yup’ik, making her the first Alaskan Native ever to hold a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives – the first woman ever to hold this seat – and the first Democrat to hold this seat in 50 years.

She campaigned on abortion rights – supporting “Fish, Family, and Freedoms” in her uniquely Alaskan campaign slogan. Fivethirtyeight.com has this to say about her victory:

"Peltola’s 3-point victory was an 18-point overperformance for Democrats. By contrast, last week, Democrat Pat Ryan won New York’s 19th District, an R+4 seat, by 2 points — just a 6-point overperformance." Pat Ryan, by the way, campaigned on abortion rights.

The signs are all here, starting with the thunderous 20-point defeat in blood-red Kansas of the attempt to strip abortion rights from the state constitution. All the signs say:

WE. WILL. NOT. GO. BACK.

Not 50 years. Not 1.

Today is September 1st. There are 68 days before the midterms. It’s not time to walk. It’s not even time to run. It’s time to fly.

Fly in the face of critics who say it can’t be done.
Fly in the face of pundits who don’t know what we know.
Fly with all the strength of your heart.
We are defending everything that matters.
We are fighting for everyone we love, for the planet, for democracy.
So fly like the wind! Reach out to every single human being you can. Make sure they’re registered and educated on how best to use their vote.

And on November 8th, let’s fly through that finish line together and land in the new America we helped bring about. Here's your countdown: 3. 2. 1...
BIG BREAKING GOOD NEWS!
WE'RE IN HARVARD MAGAZINE!
If you haven't seen it yet, Field Team 6 and our Founder Jason Berlin get nice mentions in the latest edition of the esteemed Harvard Magazine.

The article focuses on Harvard alumni concerned about the state of U.S. democracy, in particular Janet Singer '84 and Lisa Ulrich '84, M.P.A. '89, the enthusiastic founders of Crimson Goes Blue an organization that rallies Harvard alumni to support Democratic candidates vying for office. They began their efforts by reaching out to classmates who were troubled by the attacks on our democracy, but unsure of the best way to take action.

Since then they've attracted over 1,500 members, raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Democratic candidates, and gotten shout-outs from prominent Harvard progressives like Pete Buttigieg ’04, Representative Jamie Raskin ’83, J.D. ’87, and actor John Lithgow ’67, Ar.D. '05. And they've forged powerful partnerships with organizations like Swing Left... and our very own Field Team 6.

It's an excellent—and hopeful—piece which you can read HERE.
VO...TA! VO...TA! VO...TA!
BACK TO SCHOOL MEANS BACK TO DEMOCRACY
College campuses are teeming with potential Democratic voters just waiting to be registered. It's like shooting fish in a barrel, but in a positive way! (Empowering fish in a barrel?)

So we're a couple of weeks into a game-changing project called Rush Week for Democracy! It's got the potential to win elections across the country. Our secret weapons: geofencing and targeted social media ads.

Yep, we're digitally fencing off the campuses of all HBCUs in Georgia – and Georgia State as well. Set foot on campus, and you get an ad from us on your social media, urging you to get registered to vote for Governor Stacey Abrams and Senator Rev. Warnock. One click takes you straight to Georgia's official voter registration page.

We’ve tested it, and it’s been a consistent success. So we want to geofence more HBCUs and colleges in our 9 swing states highlighting Black candidates! The only thing we’re missing is the funding. If you can help, donate HERE. And if you have a rich great-aunt, or a great, rich aunt, now’s the time to ask them to fund Rush Week for Democracy – a project that just might win the midterms.

If you can’t donate, but can volunteer, join a voter drive (in Volunteer Ops below) or lead your own! (Find all you need to do that HERE.) These next two months will decide the fate of our democracy. Let's make every Rush Week count.
VIDEO SPOTLIGHT: MEET THE CANDIDATES
CANDIDATES WERE MET!
VOLS CELEBRATED! WATCH THE VIDEO WHILE IT'S HOT!

OMG! It happened! And it was amazing!

Superstar podcaster and progressive pro Brian Tyler Cohen hosted a host of inspiring Democrats in our first ever Meet the Candidates event. In between the political stars were beautiful volunteer videos of Field Team 6 rockstars leading the charge on the front lines of proudly partisan voter registration.

"You cannot be about freedom, in Cuba, in Venezuela, in Nicaragua, in many other places – like my opponent – if you're not going to defend freedom and democracy right here on U.S. soil." - Annette Taddeo (FL-27)

"The opposite of progressive is regressive!" - Aaron Ford (NV Attorney General)

"Thank you to Field Team 6, and to all of the people who are part of that team. The work that you do really inspires campaigns around the country!" - Katie Porter (CA-47)

"Justice, democracy, equity and equality are not just words or ideas to me..." Antonio Daza (GA-11)

It's not too late to hear all of the inspiring words from those above and Adrian Fontes (AZ Secretary of State), Christy Smith (CA-27), Will Rollins (CA-41), Jeff Jackson (NC-14), Dan Pastore (PA-16), Mike Collier (TX Lt. Governor), Lauren Harper, Director of Coordinated Campaigns for the TX Democratic Party, and Doug La Follette (WI Secretary of State).

TEXT ARCADES ARE BACK!
We have the contacts, but not the cash, to text all the eligible voters who are likely Democrats in our database.

Hence, the Text Arcade: a super-fast text bank that costs $25 a ticket, where 100% of your ticket price goes to funding this text bank. Plus, we cap attendance to make sure everyone has 1400 texts to send – so you definitely get your money's worth.

With the midterms fast approaching and control of Congress—and therefore the fate of democracy—at stake, this is the time to go all in with Text Arcade Tuesdays. Every Tuesday until October 18 (and maybe beyond) we'll be hosting Text Arcades to text likely Democrats in swing states that will make the difference.

Here are the next four:
