A Word from Rev. Renae
This Sunday we will be observing Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR). We will have two guest speakers to share the activities that will be taking place in the St. Pete area this weekend and to share their story. I hope you will join us for this important day of remembrance, acceptance and understanding. Below is an explanation of how and why TDOR started.

Transgender Day of Remembrance was founded in 1999 by Gwendolyn Ann Smith, a transgender woman, to memorialize the murder of transgender woman Rita Hester in Allston, Massachusetts. Rita Hester’s murder, like most anti-transgender murder cases, has yet to be solved. The observance has evolved from the web-based project started by Smith into an International Day of Action. Each year, the Transgender Day of Remembrance is observed and honored in many countries around the world.

"The Transgender Day of Remembrance seeks to highlight the losses we face due to anti-transgender bigotry and violence. I am no stranger to the need to fight for our rights, and the right to simply exist is first and foremost. With so many seeking to erase transgender people -- sometimes in the most brutal ways possible -- it is vitally important that those we lose are remembered, and that we continue to fight for justice." – Gwendolyn Ann Smith

Blessings,
Rev. Renae

Covenant Keepers 2022:
Building a Bridge of Faith
Covenant Keepers is our new stewardship program. It provides an opportunity for you to make a covenant with God through King of Peace MCC in six areas of your life: Presence, Spiritual Growth, Prayer, Financial Support, Witness, and Service.

This program is designed to help us grow as individuals and together as a Church. Our theme this year is "Building a Bridge of Faith". Each Sunday we will add a plank to our Bridge of Faith that will help us on our stewardship journey.

The Bible teaches that we are to be good stewards or overseers of all God gives us. Please prayerfully consider becoming a Covenant Keeper and return the Covenant Commitment portion to the Church by November 21st, 2021.

You can get a Covenant Commitment Brochure in person, or you can print one here or on our website here.
As we prepare for our future, we invite you to use these words and pray for King of Peace this week:

Holy God, we are so very thankful for all those who make up King of Peace. Help us to appreciate our past and realize you are doing a new thing in our midst. We have accepted your call to journey into unknown territory and continue to place our future in Your hands. Guide us by Your Spirit and prepare us for the next steps. May we be one in love and mission. We ask this prayer in the name of Jesus the Christ. Amen.

On November 21st, after worship, we will hold our Annual Congregational Meeting. At this meeting, members will vote to elect members of the Board of Directors and Lay Delegates. We will also vote on the 2022 budget, and hear an update from the Facilities Search Team. Everyone is welcome to attend, but only Members will be allowed to vote.
